QUOTE(iDk @ Feb 24 2008, 06:05 AM)
brother.... like you say, intel is paying 2.9k for 1st class grad. Just take that as the benchmark, k? You dont forget intel is in penang, i assume you are at selangor. So your expenses here is higher than penang (dont put in the land property thingy). At melaka, infenion paying 2.6k, same go with NS. And it is in melaka again. Living expenses much lower than selangor. At selangor should be atleast 2.9k. Dont forget intel, infenion, NS's job is office work, no need to travel outside to site. But yours need to travel, go site some more. One simple thing, your company how they count the petrol? Mileage claim or petrol card? If mileage claim, you still might have the chance to cover your maintenance fee. If petrol card, then you have to pay yourself. Atleast you are using the company car. But from what i see, your company most properly will ask you to use your own transport.

Your survey is incomplete without taking account of other stuffs like location and stuffs.

Sorry, i'm not manager or senior, i just same like you, fresh and new.
*
im sure dont want to be abused and i will know and notice if the company try to abuse me.

rm1750 is the basic. forgot to mention got site allowance rm300 permonth. and my office will be the site office. milage claim 50cents per km.

im an average student. so with such salary and benefits im already happy. plus, i live with my family, dinner always ready, no utility bills to be paid... the conclusion is, i already got free accommodation. anyway, rm1750 only for 3months period. maybe after that can increase up to rm2.2k? who knows..

another thing to tell u.. actually, bahan mentah like ikan, sayur etc.. are cheaper in KL compared to some other states.. also we have hypermarkets (tesco,giant,c4) which every stores will put the price just the same (except for the bahan mentah). the thing to be consider is property (rental or house installment)

if in KL we spend rm6 for lunch, i dont think other states can be as low as rm3 perlunch. average will be rm4-rm5. so it just a slight difference. actually, ppl who live in klang valley spend their money more on shopping and entertainment. that's why the salary doesnt look enough.

toll is another thing. this i admit that to work in klang valley, must consider this (but my company already give toll allowance) unless to opt out using motorcycle to work.

traffic jam = eat your fuel (this also the cons) but we can always use motorcycle.

end of my story.. lol

QUOTE(yewkhuay @ Feb 24 2008, 09:16 AM)
before look at the salary offered , 1st look at what quality n how much capabilities u hav in u and the potentials of the company tht offer u a job.
A low starting salary doesn't mean a low remuneration 2yrs later, some companies will do huge adjustment when u prove urself worthy n not based on ur background (1st class ? world class uni/col?).

In many cases, fresh grad tend to think a company tht offer low salary is hopeless n one tht offer high salary is the future....give u an example : a MNC offer 1800 for a start but train n groom u well with their training program VS a company tht offer 2500 but require u to immediately perform efficiently.

afterall, how many fresh grads is ready n fit for any job the moment they grad ? give urself 2-3yrs on field b4 u complaint about underpaid.
just my 2cents, not against u or any fresh grad.smile.gif

im thinking the same way as u and im fresh grad.. blush.gif

increment of 25%, very unlikely to happen. At mlk, one meal cost around 2.5~3. The distance maximum is 20 minutes drive at mlk with jam.

In the end, if you happy with what you got, then everyone also happy.
*
oh man.. 2.5~3 per meal?? still got ah?? maybe nasi ayam can la plus air kosong..

What i see same as what SeLrAhC see.

Only local, chinaman or taiwanese company give that kind of pay.

Sorry guys, you happy with what you have, then stick with it and be happy with it. That's all i got to say.

hello.. most of the companies in malaysia are local, chinaman and taiwanese company ok? be realistic.

so u tell me which company will give u rm5000++ for fresh grads. since im in construction field, give me which construction firms that are so kind to give u such amount...

Are you from mlk? Which part of mlk you stay?

That's the average meal cost i am talking about at outside stall.

i assume that rm3 is for rice(50cents)+chicken(1.50)+vegi(50cents)+drink(50cents)=rm3 (really heaven price)

How you do justify the company will surely give you huge adjustment after you performing for few years? It can be empty promises and i would say you are talking BS here. Before the company hire you, they already know your capabilities. It is not wait until you enter the company then only know you cannot perform or you are not the person they looking for. If this happened, it is the HR manager's fault and mistake. That's why there are few stages of interview going on to check you out.

What you mean huge adjustment when you prove yourself? You mean give you an 50% increment in your 1750 pay? after you work your a$$ off until midnight for 1 or 2 years time? one time adjustment give you 50% increment is in your dream.
*

so, for average fresh grads no oppurtunities to work laa.... all grads must be 1st class honoured..

what fresh grads need is experience.. then, up to them whether to demand or jump to other company for better pay. but still 2 years exp already can demand for rm10k? blink.gif (since one the forumer earned 6.4k. so assume if have 2years exp the salary will be 10k? or higher? shakehead.gif ... oh.. i forgot.. it's starbucks.. got so many bucks for their employee...

huge adjustment doesnt mean to give 50% increment.. maybe get more benefits and remuneration would be better.. and 50% increment from 1750 is 2625.. working for 2 years is possible to get that amount my brother... 100% increment also possible...

last but not least... r u currently working?? so i assume u already met and facing the world..
u show me your payslip here, i'll STFU..

my friend got a fat pay of rm5k working for shell miri fresh grad... construction depends... the msian market is a bit dilluted.. everyone wants a bit of the pie for contruction.. have to pay off too many ppl... end up employees suffer...

avg grads can always find other opportunities elsewhere... if you dont like the job just leave...or join the gov.. gov pays well... but depending on ur skin colour..

experience yes, it is needed... but not to the point of mistreating your employees... any company that does that is either not doing well... or the directors are taking all the $$ for themselves and most of these companies are chinamans... no responsibility towards the wellfare of their employees so turnover is high

in msia the edu system is a bit crazy... some people that dont deserve to be grads end up getting a degree therefore employers have a hard time knowing actually who are the good ones... so the rest suffers as well
*
i admit for all what u said.. but shell is OnG company cannot compare with building/road construction company.

ermm.. as low as 1.6k to 3k depending on department and job scope...
so if u already had another job why ask bout this job? if you hop so many times... your employers will get pissed.. dont you have a working agreement?

neway... 2.1k + company car is fine... also depends what car they gave... it is kind on the low side though... if the increment and bonuses are good... then the pay is fine... petrol allowance is a must/norm for marketing/sales execs so it doesnt really matter

gain experince.... dont jump here and there too often
*
it's not that i really wanna jump (btw, it's my 1st time though).. cos my current job is what i've been looking for and im happy with it. no knn from boss, no sun burn, no cursing and all the heavy work on site.

on probation period can resign at anytime. no contract involve. what car can i expect for junior exec? continental car? of course la not.. but not perodua la for sure..
