hi everybody
will u accept the offer of rm1500 for management trainee in ipoh?

if without exp and at least diploma i'll consider it's ok for that amount. some more, it's not KL or Penang. i assume that ipoh living cost is much lower than both i mentioned.

I don't know if I'm underpaid. Sometimes I compared my salary with the ones earned in SG or even India/CN, mine was badly underpaid. A bit depressed at times because of that. I guess Malaysians are underpaid? But if I think about it that way, I couldn't work effectively and kept complaining. (guess most forumers will say, go and work in SG. :S)
*
u r lucky cos in your industry 4 years exp can get that much ady compared to others. in construction field, 4 years exp with degree can get around rm4k-5k only. that's average. but MNC in my industry pay quite well.

QUOTE(jacktai @ Mar 17 2009, 05:30 PM)
What to said Malaysia still developing. Some more a lot of MNC setup share service center here to serve their regional company; what their purpose? Cause Malaysia paid are lower & lot of educated people, cost effective for the company, then low paid to the staff.

How to do, either keep quite & work, or just work oversea.

As your paid are above average, compare to us earning 2-3k which below average. Should thanks God you have 2-3 time of most people salary.

if indon got forum with topic like this with the same post, sure got reply like this "How to do, either keep quite & work, or just work in Malaysia" laugh.gif

sorry HappyA_Q, it's not that we are against u.. but most of us here feel like.. that if u r underpaid, then most of us are under underpaid.. and in this downturn situation of economy, who kena kick out from the company will grab any jobs available even the salary damn low and not meet their exp. juz like my new colleague. he got diploma in mech. work in a manufacturing industry with 4years exp and salary rm3.5k. now he switch line (construction) and got rm1.9k oni.

and also u compared with other country salary. it's different and unfair comparison. maybe u got more in SG but the expenses shud be more also.

so u shud be grateful to get such salary smile.gif

Hey mutt, it's okay. Probably you're right. Sometimes we should be glad with what we have and don't take things for granted.
I have also struggled very hard and worked on tasks/projects that no one wants to do. None of the experienced guys will take it.
So, worked thru them and had arguments here and there, and get things done. So, finally able to get more experiences and justify my values.
Well, and probably, I'm just lucky.  smile.gif

maybe the workload u take can justify ur earning.. hmm, sometimes i feel like im underpaid (well actually yes laugh.gif) compare to the workload and how experience i am to handle my company business.. ya, i can understand how u feel. juz like what i felt last time smile.gif

IT field pay like crazy.. i think maybe the profit margin for IT business is very high.. normally offer service to client only and the charges damn expensive.. like my office just setup network rm2000 for 2 days. then if need them to come 1 hour RM100 @_@!

It's not quite what you think. RM100/hour may seem like a lot, but it's for their knowledge/expertise and well as their time. There is a lot of knowledge packed into that 1 hour time. Because of their expertise, they need only charge you say, 2 hours instead of 10. Alternatively, you could hire someone for 2 bucks/hour for 10 hours but I doubt they can help you much with your network.

Secondly, what you are paying the company is not necessarily what they are paying their staff...
*
ya, maybe u r true.. but from the observation here we can see besides OnG, IT field also is a nice pay job.

lol u sure? too damn low. My friend work at petronas basic salary 3.5k

that's OnG company my friend. besides that industry, fresh grad engineering student can get between rm1.8k-rm2.5k. even MNC such as flextronic just give RM2.8k for fresh grads but your CGPA must be good or u end up working with local SME company with low starting salary. face the reality. i used to be like u before, whining why the range of salary is low. juz grab any job oppurtunity, dont wait until u get your expected salary. end up u get nothing and waste your time. remember that TIME is your EXPERIENCE and experience is MONEY.

Added on April 6, 2009, 2:24 amoh ya, my friend also work in OnG industry offshore based. basic salary RM3.5k plus offshore allowance RM500/day. got petrol card that entitled him to pump petronas fuel at RM1/liter. but he's LUCKY to get that job since his brother is a BIG MAN in SHELL. he's my only ex-coursemate with 5 figure income as a fresh grad. degree in Construction Management. not related but he got CABLE. that's it.

i have a big fight with my boss. then submitted my resignation letter. i know they still want me cos im the key person of the company. when we have a discussion regarding my prob with my boss, they ask me to retain and wanna give me increment. i said i want rm700 and they like "waa.. that's too high.." and lower it to RM500 and still the feel like that's too much. i said firmly at least i want RM500. then the result was positive rclxms.gif
