PSU makers cashing in due to the drastic price drop in high performance hardware=high power consumption. Frankly, even with quad core & SLI, its hard to get beyond 500-600W. And you'll know, because after half an hour for sure your room will feel damn warm..

Increase? Not really. Pretty much for CPUs its topped out around 130W regardless of what CPU it is (of course overclocking not counted la). Its GPUs that are frightening these days, a 8800GTS/GTX/Ultra takes up more power than a typical CPU, and a 2900XT breaks all records, coming in at almost 200W for the card alone.

I had a short sms conversation with KC last nite, he seems quite serious this time. In the meantime I will mantain our OC database.

TrOwA008 suggested we meet up more regularly, how about every month for a start? And perhaps can have a full day gathering sometime soon, we pool some money and rent a small hall somewhere, bring all our PCs and have our own lan/OC party.
