Maybe.. but the question was, which is the safest ? and I think we can agree that the banks are the safest.

Its almost the same...
The only not-so-safe about paypal is if the paypal seller report fraud, the paypal will be forfeited...
So just find a reliable seller..

I prefer to take into accountability for safest + less hassle..
So paypal is less hassle compared to TT, becoz u need to get alot of codes from the recipient bank (bank code, etc etc)

use TT la. dont bother using paypal, for transfer of money, troublesome. fine for payment of stuff but not to transfer of huge sum of money.

with TT, all you have to do it is go to bank, give the money, give the recipient account info and it is done. charge is not that high as well. around £12 for transfer above £1000 into UK for example. reliable as you will have receipt etc from the bank. and the recipient detail they need is just the name, account no, and bank sort code for UK though.

with paypal. you will have to buy paypal fund or open an account, then transfer etc. your brother might need to withdraw the money from the paypal fund upon receiving to his bank account etc, and some charges might apply as well for crediting paypal fund into the card/bank account.

and if you are to open a bank account, you will need to revalidate your address etc which might takes some days. not to mention of transfering that huge sum, you need to be a validated member etc. if you are to buy paypal fund from someone, i guess you need to split the amount because that is a huge sum of money, and are the sellers reliable, can they be trusted? of all that troublesome works, plus not so official procedures, might as well just go to bank and TT the money, let the bank staff do the work.

rm400 for that. weird!

i used to receive TT for £5000 and they charge me for £12 only.£12 for £2000 transfer too, from RHB.

Added on November 22, 2007, 4:12 pmused to be £6 if below £2000, but that w2as years ago. no hidden charge as well.

i think the hidden charge means, they deduct the charge when the recipient receive the money, or you can pay them upfront so they wont deduct the from the amount you have sent.

paypal is the quickest and the savest way to transfer money. and they charge not so much. western union charge you the most and take 24 hours. banktransfer ist the slowest and pay nearly the same as western union. dont send cheque or cash.

TT to USA from Maybank2u

RM10 - Charged by Maybank
USD15-USD20 - Charged by Intermediate Bank in USA

So total Charged is around RM10+(USD15-USD20)
