(my understanding is 1 lot = 1000 shares)

cause i heard the rule changed few years back which is *100. i am confuse. so, if i wana buy 1 lot of proton at rm 4.10, so is it rm 4100 i need to pay ? or else ?

lastly, what is the minimun quantity to buy a share?

pls help blush.gif

Min Qty is 100 shares. Why not communicate with your remisier you wanna buy '100 shares' or '1000 shares'? Dats bcos 'lot' is very misleading. You are right dat 1 lot is supposed to be 100 shares. But lotsa ppl are still using 1 lot = 1000 shares 'cos it is still widely accepted.

Added on November 22, 2007, 12:38 pmOn top of the 4,100 you need to pay for Proton shares, you will also need to pay for brokerage, clearing house fees and stamp duty.

Thanks Ninjitsu.

You given me the concept now. so, this also mean the exact figure of 1 lot is * 100.
so, how about minimun quantity ? 100 shares (which also mean 1 lot)? or can i buy 50 shares?

Thanks Ninjitsu.

you need to pay:

proton shares : 4100.00
brokerage rate : 24.60 (assuming it is 0.6%)
clearing fees : 1.64
stamp duty : 5.00

total would be RM 4131.24

Nope, min. to buy/sell is 100 shares. Unlike US, min. is 1 share.

yes, definitely. if the market stagnant, investor dont like it. if the stock keep going up, the chart will be very hard to draw and understand. i found out many investor here pretty keen with hk cw, why? is it because want to conver to mother share and enter hk market ? or is the price too convincing?

Thanks

i guess, probably is "price is convincing" (few hundred ringgit can deal edy)
