But 3.2 & 5 MP don't make big difference I guess? Compare the 3.2 pixx by K800 & N95. K800's 3.2 still win.
Hehe.. well maybe. But as far as I know, the K series camera is always better than the W series. Nokia [Nokia(tm) N95 8GB Official Thread], Its what improved computers have become!

QUOTE(pigcat @ Dec 5 2007, 05:12 PM) Actually even me also set to 3MP for casual shots only, 5MP is way overkill. However, I'm travelling to Macau soon so I'll set it to 5MP to capture all the nice nice scenes (the advantage of having the option to choose higher resolution). AGREED Yeah the big problem with SE is that they simply don't want to come out with a "perfect" phone like Nokia did, pack everything inside. But they have their own market isn't it? Not every wants so many features. But then, no standard 3.5mm and USB port...Aww...I hate docking port... Oh yeah, still, the N95 8GB video shooting is really the best I've seen, way more appealing than the megapixel wars... |

QUOTE(Ash @ Dec 5 2007, 05:25 PM) There is no way on earth would a camera of K800i beats the camera of n95. Please provide more evidence to support your assumption. Don't always listen to others. You should compare the pictures in N95 thread and also the one in K800i thread yourself. I was a K800i user before I switched to N95 and I can see the difference between them easily myself. Hehehe! Finally someone who uses both! I used W800 before and the camera was indeed lousier than K750. So I know for a fact the camera quality between K and W series differ from each other But then... on the sound part of N95, I feel that my old W800 is better lor.. maybe it's due to the megabass function? But I am not complaining about my N95 sounds... it's good enough, loud enough... and if you have a very good quality MP3, the sound is actually very very good. |

QUOTE(pigcat @ Dec 5 2007, 05:29 PM) Bug report! Hmmm my firmware is still V10, the EV+- is working well.Ok, the manual light compensation (EV +-) doesn't work with the positive setting! When set to e.g. EV-1 the brightness will lower down, however, set to anything +0.5~+2 will not have any effect at all! I'm not sure if this is normal, but I've seen the N82 camera shots and it actually functional even though the picture came out too bright! It's a manual setting after all right? Firmware is v11, not sure if this applied to v10 as well... |

QUOTE(2kia @ Dec 6 2007, 03:20 AM) this might seem rude but i thought w800, w810 n k750 were all using the same camera module? back then SE's segmentation wasn't so obvious as k750 had megabass and w800 n w810 had camera wit auto focus, no..? QUOTE(nicks @ Dec 6 2007, 10:29 AM) Heck! what is this? Well, this is based on my observations. The K-series camera is better than W series. I compared mine to a friend of mine who has the K series with same megapixel. If you read my post correctly, I did say I was SE lover before Nokia came up with N95. But I guess I've jumped ship, lol! LONG LIVE N95! LONG LIVE N95! LMFAO! p/s: But I'd still recommend SE phones to my friends because I still their phones are more affordable. And for the same price you paid for Nokia phones, I am very sure spec wise SE is better. i.e Nokia 6330 vs K550i. As I said, N95 is the only Nokia phone I like, well maybe I'd want that Nokia Internet Tablet too, lol. Added on December 6, 2007, 2:37 pm QUOTE(chyuan @ Dec 6 2007, 01:45 PM) that's the most expensive car holder for N95 8GB Hmm can't find the one for N95 8GB lah... maybe they havent updated their website.http://www.brodit.com/ Brodit is the specialist in making those PDA/HP car holder =.= Well, personally I don't think I want a car holder, unless I'll be using the GPS which I wont I think, haha. Especially for Nokia N95, to get a good reception of the satellite, you need to slide open the phone and laid it flat on it's back. The receiver is located at the end side of the keypads if I am not mistaken. Read about this somewhere. This post has been edited by missgeek: Dec 6 2007, 02:37 PM |

well, just be careful buying AP phones for the models that has been out for a while... you'll never know what the seller had changed.
My personal opinion, if you dont have N95 yet, go for the 8GB version la... it is indeed better than N95-1, altho it's only RAM, screen size, battery juice and black beauty body. They are all significant upgrade. But then, that's my personal opinion la So far only the fingerprints and no shutter camera irks me alot. I played with a friend's N95-1, the smaller screen is obvious la since I used to look at my phone a lot, haha. But N95-1 is looking bit compact and slimmer to the touch, hehe. Also the shutter is very convenient actually, sigh. Only plus point, N95-2 camera is looking very sleek and clean without the shutter, but given option, I would rather have the shutter... my finger keep on landing on the lense when handling the phone liow (texting etc). @pigcat I didnt notice the noise... let me try again, maybe it's pretty low noise I didnt realise? |

QUOTE(pigcat @ Dec 11 2007, 08:13 PM) Guys I discovered something really unusual and weird about the battery usage! I've used the camera in night mode, take some pics and exit the camera. I am not sure if it is still running at the background tho... will report if my battery suddenly drain fast like that... my flash mode is always auto anyway... so when low lights, it always fired up the flash and I never encountered the problem like you mentioned.Ok, in the past 3 days, my phone encountered excessive battery usage out of a sudden. It's like, out of nowhere the phone will get warm due to draining of the battery. I was like WTF?? The battery just suddenly dropped pretty quickly. Then, I kinda tracked down where the problem existed. Apparently it was the camera application has some bug or something that left running in the background and draining battery! I was pretty sure it happened after I used the camera, if I'm not wrong, it has something to do with the flash and night mode. Cause it's already 3 times it happened after taking some low light photos with flash needed. Before I confirm if it's a common bug for every users, please report if you have the same experience about this. PS: By the way restart the phone will fix the problem but it's annoying that if you happened to take night photos and suddenly it drain off the battery say during vacation and want to shoot some precious moment that'll be kinda sux... Added on December 11, 2007, 9:28 pm QUOTE(BlueBerry~ @ Dec 11 2007, 09:17 PM) Yeah xenon flash is a nice feature... well Nokia shud have made it for N95 leh... N82 also got.. thank god N82 is ugly looking for me (pls note, that is IMHO). So it's ok lor they have xenon to compensate the look, This post has been edited by missgeek: Dec 11 2007, 09:28 PM |

I dont really fancy rotateme.. just rotate and ur phone become landscape. Well... I am waiting for the release of NOKMOTE, hehe. Then u will never think iPhone is that great, haha! Sorry fanboys! 2. Haha, you want lo. 7mb? More like 1MB+ per sec... 3. Apparently the factory v10 firmware can silent by switch warning tone off (quite some people at hardwarezone claim they can), but mine v11 cannot... Hmm i am using v10, just put the phone in silent mode, then my camera is also silent. Oh, btw... QUOTE(pigcat @ Dec 12 2007, 10:46 AM) Yes, even the camera will produce sound in silent mode. I remember it's been that way even on my E70 I think. Oeh! Why mine is silent ah? When I pres that # long, my silend mode will be activated. When I take pics in this mode, no shutter sound, nothing sounds in fact... I can become perverts and take leng chai pics, hahahahahahahahah! Anyway I can live with that no problem, yeah it seems like asian got more perverts... But seriously, mine doesnt make any noise in silent profile. Hmmm... my phone not from APAC meh? QUOTE(pigcat @ Dec 12 2007, 03:33 PM) Hmm I try again and see? Sometimes, the very first focus sound will be silent, then after that all focus and shutter sound all cannot silent liao. Hmm..yeah la.. Maybe Singtel phones not APAC. Eh, whatever la... now I can become pervert and take leng chai pics. Your phone most probably not APAC, but it's SingTel lol...Maybe that also explained why you cannot update firmware. Lots of people over the hardwarezone also can silent but it's a Singapore forum so most probably SingTel user can silent lo. Added on December 12, 2007, 3:34 pmJust tested, nope, still cannot silent... Hmm, also I tested the camera thing, my battery didnt drain, I think your camera is running at the back ground la pigcat, u didnt notice that's why the battery so fast drain lor. |

Yeah la... me dont have standalone camera... always want one la Anyway just want to add some comment on the Martin Field protector. So I mentioned that I scratched the surface of the protector right, then after few days hoh, the scratch now seems invincible already (although you can still see it with certain angle of light but hardly visible when reading the screen)! Wow, now that's something quite impressive there Added on December 12, 2007, 3:44 pm I don't want to bring so many devices ler especially travelling...Just 1 is enough...moreover I just need it for casual shooting, a 5MP photo resize to 640x480 with internal photo editor and share with friend is very convenient already...That's why Nokia flagship phones all so tempting! Oh, I think I know why Samsung G600 won the first place, the editing software is superb... N95 editing software kinda sucks right? not much to do... if u check Samsung G600 ones can do a lot of things lei... so nice. Can blur2 background la... etc etc... anyone can suggest good third party pic editing software for S60v3 ah? Got or not? |

QUOTE(Garfie @ Dec 13 2007, 08:48 AM) Just got myself a nice leather PDair case for my N95 8GB...Ordered the silicone one but then it's fugly. Really fugly compared to the PDair...Cost of the pouch is RM68 or £10... Ahh! Ok this is interesting! Here's how it looks like: ![]() Me likey like this better than Nokia CP 235! One thing is it's vertical flap which is better than horizontal flap like CP 235. Sometimes I wonder why Nokia changed it when it works very well with N95-1, pfftt. Secondly, see that button? It is way better than the one in Nokia. Nokia use this button and a hole in a leather, not the real button head and bottom! And from the look of this pic, it looks like a magnetic button, yes? Garfie, can u pleaseeeeee tell us where did you find this and the price is awesome! Btw, this is the pics of CP 235, taken from hardwarezone sg (Credits to David Loh) already available in Singapore for SGD18. ![]() ![]() ![]() I think the one Garfie has is better lor. Garfieeee faster tell! Added on December 13, 2007, 3:08 pmHere more pics of that PDair pouch. Well, the vertical flap down techniques is kinda weird after a few looks I think, hehe. http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info....roducts_id=6846 But it is very nice pouch, Solid and looks sturdy than the one from Nokia lor. See the way it covers the camera, Nokia one too big the hole. I think. This post has been edited by missgeek: Dec 13 2007, 03:08 PM |

QUOTE(BlueBerry~ @ Dec 13 2007, 03:33 PM) Actually. Magnetic clips arent really theft-proof. Coz its almost silent when you open it. You might not hear it when a thief comes and open it and takes your phone away. However with the one Nokia has. It has quite a loud click sound to alert you and its pretty hard to open. The Nokia one should server better. But i dont like the side-flip one. True, but the one my friend has, it's original nokia, it's too hard to close, have to press down really hard wor. But theft is not my main concern, just dont put ur phone on the table that's all... they are not thinking of getting the phone out of the pouch anyway, they will take the pouch together. Haha. The one I have the chapalng one is also hard to close, I thot only for chapalang brand but it seemed it applies to Original Nokia too. I feel it u have to push too hard and harming the phone in a way. @Bufung That's the thing, the old N95-1, there's a ridge between top panel and bottom so the plastic holder at the side can sorta hang there and will not touch the top panel. Now that N95 8GB has no more ridge, I am not sure how the hell it works now... how to slide if the plastick hold? Hmm... |
