Hmm I read this somewhere else, and was told that the information is not accurate.

Anyway mine is also 01, actually to be honest the slider seems to have mantained the solidness since the first "loosen" up during the first few weeks of usage. So I think it won't get loosen anymore unless drop or something. As usual, touch wood, touch wood...

But one thing I noticed, at the 4 corner the back place already worn off (means the upper corner of the side part, right below the slider plate). I was just take out and put back into my pocket as usual, but already worn off. Anyway so used to it already, will change the housing when it gets really ugly la haha...

The 4 corner/edge right below the slider plate already worn off, the first matt layer already peel off and can see the shiny layer like the top slider plate. I'll try to take picture of it but don't have camera at the moment. Doesn't bug me though cause already sien of taking care of the phont.

About the scratch marks you mention, yeah there's also scratch and worn off part, also the same when you check the underside of the slider, there's also worn off part both slide up and down area, I think every unit will be like this lo, faulty design or perhaps wrong material used, never heard of such problem with classic N95 users though.

And go to hell straight...

Really feel the pain of losing such an expensive phone...

By the way when I travel to China I never put my phone in the bag but in pocket instead, and also I carry a sling bag and put it in front me for maximum awareness. Oh and I avoided stupid people purposely langgar me...Pickpocket sucks hard.

...Maybe you want to consider N82 if you planning to buy a new phone? I think it's as good, more cheaper and yet providing xenon flash...Maybe suits a female more...

Luckily mine is 01, I think the built quality is above average although not impressive, I'm satisfied anyway.

But still, why not put the phrase "made in finland" rather than "made by nokia" if the unit is 01/10/00?

I ordered invincible shield, still waiting for it. Anyway my phone housing already got scratch marks so no point to protect it now, will apply the shield when I need to change the housing.

Anyway the invincible shield is just like skinning the phone, but with excellent material to protect the phone.

Around RM95, martin field already RM68 leh, so not too much difference in price but invincible shield can give full protection woh, so I think it's well worth it. I hate those crystal cases and pouches, the case make the phone more ugly and the pouchese actually increase the phone drop rate. I dropped my phone once because don't have 3rd hand to handle accident slipping out.

Yup, not impressed by the martin field. It'll leave scratch marks quite easily, although it's very transparent and the scratches are virtually invincible. But for the price, I'd rather go with full protection, just the material and surface covered already more than twice of MFSP can give. Not to mention the great material that's used.

Yes, don't have like N95 classic or N82. But I put martin field protector on it, no problem.

1. Of course Avaxx set, if you have the money to pay, or if you have heart attack, save more money to buy Avaxx set.

2. I think RM27xx for Avaxx and RM22xx~RM2300 for AP.

3. Basically any shop will do given the price is right.

4. First of all check if the IMEI number match with the box or not (input *#06# to see the IMEI number of your phone). Then check all the accessories are intact and sealed. And of course, Avaxx warranty card.

If you have heart attack, do a quick check if there's stuck pixel on the LCD during the "NOKIA" startup screen, or go to the camera and take a black photo by covering the camera lens with something, and check the LCD got stuck pixel or not.

Above is obviously if you're buying Avaxx set. There're way more risk to go with AP set, and informations are available everywhere in LYN. In the end you would want to ask your self would you like to bet RM500 to gamble for an AP set?

It's actually quite thick if compared to most of the RM10 screen protectors out there, but it has it advantage where it won't trap much air bubbles during application, and easier to align.

But I really not impressed by the quality la, scratch resistant? I put/take out from my pocket like everyday use also will leave scratch marks on it la. But not a bid deal though, still not visible and won't kacau the display. It's just that the price, RM59.90, and shipping is RM8. Invincible Shield by ShieldZone is a way better product. It'll wrap the whole phone for around RM85 (to be accurate, USD$25 only including normal snail mail shipping), cheap eh? (don't know what is Invincible Shield? Go to http://www.shieldzone.com , you MUST have a look first before you spend your money).

Yup I bought AP set and had quite some heart attack that I never have before (cause I always buy Avaxx/Zitron set for Nokia).

The built quality is actually good, no worse than my imagination. But the unit I got has no chinese stroke keypad, that make my looks like alien (that's just me ya), so I go to buy a keypad from Zitron at Berjaya Plaze 13th floor for RM32 and DIY, pretty easy to change the keypad, thank God. Then of course I had the phone reinstalled the Malaysia firmware by Nokia Care Center, for RM30.

Then, the unit looks no different from the Avaxx set. Then you have to touch wood everyday and pray the phone won't get spoiled, cause AP set will only warranty IF the phone really faulty at first. If Avaxx, they'll sometimes even cover accident repairs too (you paid a premium for that, cause AP price is actually a standard price almost everywhere else).

And, if you can get AP set with IMEI match the box, you should go buy lottery lol. Means, AP set 99% IMEI number won't match the box. My box is Italian origin, but also available in english for the CD and manual. If you really want to buy AP set, try to get a "made in finland" unit or simply get the singapore version (but don't get SingTel unit ya, get the generic one).

Oh and don't forget, some AP sets will have tattoo, like "Orange" "Vodafone" "3" "TIM" etc...

I agree with you that N95 8GB IMO is the best looking phone ever created by Nokia up to date. Size, look, functions, screen, battery...Everything just so balanced.

Actually if not because of xenon flash, I wouldn't get my hands on N82 if I'm you. Again, waiting for a N95 8GB successor model equpped with xenon flash...

I think you should wait for a little longer, wait for any sign that shows if there's any N95 8GB successor annoucements or not, if want to buy again maybe wait a few months more, buy now really rugi a lot ler although AP price now should be RM22xx already, a lot less than what you've paid for yours.

I do THINK Nokia gonna come out the single slider form factor first which featured the giant optic on top of the phone (like N93). Although only black and white blur picture leaked, but looks promising though. Still, really love the dual slide, felt much cooler than the single slide no matter what design it is.

Just installed nokmote...Well, really don't have much clue how to use it smoothly. Moreover no auto startup like the latest rotateme beta. So mah fan to use...

So I just let it stay in my application folder for the time being, just for show off when needed...

Nope, only unsigned version installer, no cert.

Moreover you can get it at page 66...

I think Nokia Maps will be pretty detailed. At least download the part of UK you're heading to and keep it as a backup, and use other as main. Can't recommend any though as I'm not fimilar with UK maps.

HandyTaskManager, rotateme (together with accelerometer), emtube, coreplayer, screenshot. These are basically 'must have' list.

Haiyo use soft bag style pouch or don't use at all lo. I give up use any pouch and I'm planning to save my RM129 for my new housing when the phone gets ugly, and then apply the mighty Invincible Shield...

I've installed the v15 firmware, now the phone felt even more snappy than before! N82 user have nothing to brag about the speed of GUI now...

Also, dictionary finally come back! Camera startup noticeable faster as well! And confirm flash lite 3 already installed cause when I reinstall my flash lite 3 an error message said the software already built in, so no need to install! And tried open youtube.com and watch video, CONFIRM CAN WATCH DIRECTLY with web browser!!!

Go go go! Get your v15 firmware!!!

EDIT: Camera now can do focus with nightmode... However, my EV+ value still not working and they didn't do anything about the night mode sharpness and make it more beautiful like the N82... But still a very nice update, at least I can feel it's a proper update than put more bugs in it...
