when u're using n95 8gb as yr modem, u can only connect the lappie and phone thru infra right? is there an option where u can do it thru cable or bluetooth?
*
Am connected using cable. faster. You can also connect using bluetooth, both drains the battery quite fast since there is no USB charging unlike Windows PDA phone. Speedwise is faster than my Tytn II (both HSDPA).
Am using as a modem coz' I hate to surf on 2.8" screen, too old for that, prefer 15.4", easier on the eyes......Anyway, my lappie goes home with me for the weekends for work and fun to pick up webmail, check on hot sites such as LYN and others.

have you backup-ed them before the firmware update?
restore the backup-ed files if you want your previous config and data (such as sms, notes, calendar) back...

I read previous post and I found that I need to go to Time Square digi center to get my 3 months navigation activated. Anyone else know about this?

never have such problem. for GPRS, maybe you can check with your telco. As for my case, digi automatic detect new phone right after i switched on. GPRS, MMS, and other setting automatically done. for WiFi, need you to describe what problem in detail.

Added on February 11, 2008, 10:06 ambetween, i have read n95 vs n82 on camera. found that xenon flash is not only brighter than LED flash, but also produce better quality picture. but i am more concern on color management. it is so obvious that n82 can produce truer colour than n95. from others' opinion, it is the new image processing algorithm by nokia. hope it can be update by firmware.

for GPRS/WAP, it stated there Packet data: connection not allowed. i have already activated GPRS and save those settings. 3G signal is there too.

as for WiFi, it can detect my network. while connecting, this showed up [WLAN : unable to connect. WLAN network not found.] I am very sure my WLAN is working cause my iPod touch can connect and able to watch youtube videos.

Hmm.. I am not sure why your GPRS doesn't work, either for WiFi. But I have a little experience to share:

Most router now using WPA Key, that is a 16bit key that enhance WiFi security. So you can detect the signal easily, and then key in the encryption key then you are online. However, my router is an old type one, which it will only establish connection with devices that is registered into the router with MAC code. Still, the phone can detect wireless signal from my router, but it will prompt the same message as in your case. But since your iPod touch can connect, I doubt this is the reason.

As a conclusion, I don't know. Sorry can't help much.
