sang_karim, your did your si120 near to northbridge sink?? mine quite near and hardly put a fan on it. i have a TT 60mm fan, planning to put it on. tongue.gif
*
wahh .. gonna cool ur nortbridge aaa ... wanna push more also aaa? hmm.gif gud..gud ... lets oc together gether .. laugh.gif .. i'm not sure bout mine but i think can put and fan on the nb heatsink .. the space to tight if i'm not mistaken ... sweat.gif

as your hfs almost like mine, so just want to ask. as my northbridge is hotter than my cpu, so think of a way to cool it down.
*
ur nb is hotter than ur cpu aaa?? i dunno how mine cooled down but normally it's around 38C - 41C ... maybe my air flow in casing better than urs kot? unsure.gif 2x80mm fan exhaust at back of the casing and open 1 front bay cover for air to come in ... then 1x80mm fan at side panel as intake ... my 120mm CM LED fan is blowing downward just like urs b4 ... how bout urs? hmm.gif

guys ...i think mine can't reach 4Ghz la .. maybe need some extreme cooling and tweaking to reach that ... highest can go is 3.8GHz but not run any stability test ... here my setting ...

Vcore = 1.475V
Vdimm = 2.75V
Vagp = 1.6V

FSB = 255MHz can't load windows ..will hang ... here the screenie ... wink.gif

user posted image

FSB = 254MHz with 2.5-3-3-7 timing ... i think oredi hit da wall la ... doh.gif

@sang,nice o/c you have and the Super PI is very good.Congratulations.CAn be almost par with fylon.
*
yeah..almost par but can't join his 4GHz club la ... laugh.gif ... just don't dare to increase the vcore more than 1.475V ... sweat.gif

*
i've read sum review that my ram can do 275MHz at 3-4-4-8 ... if can do surely can join that 4GHz club laugh.gif ... just dun have that tweaking skills ... the temp kindda ok ...rite now mobo = 37C and cpu = 44C .. maybe need to pump more juice that i don't dare to do ... sweat.gif

@kabukiawie
oredi set to 3-4-4-8 at 255MHz but stuck .... that's i'm tighten the timing at 254MHz .... btw have google and found that the highest vcore for prescott is 1.525V ... gonna pump sum juice more ... thumbup.gif

haha ... no 4Ghz for me ... here the situation :

vcore = 1.5v
vdimm = 2.75v
vagp = 1.6v
ram timing = 3-4-4-8

windows hang at FSB = 256MHz .. i geuss it's not the vdimm ... vcore almost max = 1.525V .... one conclusion, oredi hit the wall ... sweat.gif

Woh? I was now typing this reply with 4G and also use the same setting as urs! laugh.gif Was try to do some 3dmark benchmark later on. By then, had u try with vdimm 2.85v see can boot or not..

I just found that my proc need 1.5v vcore to stable in certain task such like file compressing. sweat.gif
*
i don think it's about the ram ... 2.85V gonna void the ram warranty if sumthing bad happen .. so i wouldn't dare to risk that .. sweat.gif 1.5V need to stable ur proc .... u really need that high CFM fan la dude ... sweat.gif

Haha.. Yea! 1.5v needed to some do application. But just for testing purpose. I wont stick to 4G all the time as well. laugh.gif Normal usage, 3.6G is more the enough.

By then, the ur game isnt finish yet.. brows.gif Tried with 5:4 timing yet? Maybe 1:1 ratio will hang u at 255fsb but 5:4 might able to push ur proc higher without depend so much on the ram.
*
if using 5:4 divider of coz can reach 4GHz but not so syiok maa .... laugh.gif

Guys ... try to reach 4GHz with 5:4 divider isn't as easy as i thought .. sweat.gif try with this setting :

Vcore : 1.5V
Vdimm : 2.75V
Vagp : 1.6V
Ram timing : 3-4-4-8

Results with 5:4 divider - Windows restart
Result with 1:1 divider - Windows can start normally

I'm wondering why that 5:4 divider can't boot normally .... hmm.gif

@fylon
have u ever try 4:5 divider ? coz ur ram have plenty room to oc, i think u should give a try ... brows.gif if ur's set to FSB = 250MHz ... ur proc gonna run at 4GHz and ram at 312MHz ... drool.gif

THis is strange,i think maybe your RAM doesn't like loose timing at low frequency.
*
or maybe i should tighten the timing or leave it to default setting ? hmm.gif

i'm done ... i think my proc hit the wall oredi .. can boot normally at FSB = 255MHz (3.84GHz) .. beyond that will hang after loading windows

Vcore : 1.5V
Vdimm : 2.65V
Vagp : 1.6V
Ram timing = Auto

Now running dailly with 3.6Ghz with 2.5-3-3-5 timing .... fylon, u r the man rite now .... icon_rolleyes.gif

maybe thats true. raymond, your ram just pass a message to me. "DONT UNDERESTIMATE ME!!! I CAN RUN AT TIGHT TIMING~~~" laugh.gif jk jk

wahahahaha.....mine last time have face this problem, running at cas3 dont boot at all, at least must run at cas2.5 or cas2. that time was running at speed below stock speed. once get over 200mhz, then running at cas3 no problem. but also quite useless, cant even get pass trought 230mhz. doh.gif

@sang_karim
you try run it at 5:4, i think you should get higher. since you can get near to 3.8GHz 1:1, i believe get pass 4GHz with 5:4 is not a hard work. at 4ghz you can run at 2-x-x-x timing. smile.gif i htnk the performance will be better than your current 3.6GHz thumbup.gif
*
oredi tried with 5:4 divider .. that was the result i got ... i thought i can easily reach 4Ghz with 5:4 but i'm wrong .... set vcore, vdimm , ram timing at auto and vagp at 1.6V incase needed for stability but only manage to boot windows normally at FSB = 255Mhz (3.84Ghz) only ... almost the same with 1:1 divider which can boot at FSB = 254Mhz only ... so my conclusion is the proc hit the wall oredi .... nod.gif

Wah... 1 hrs dint refresh thread is flooded. shocking.gif

@sang_karim
Haha.. I never tried with 5:4 before as i can hit 4G with 1:1 ratio i think it should be enough for me. As for the timing 2.5-3-3-6 @ 4G i gain around 7k bandwidth for my system. drool.gif Most of it, as Ray & kabu has says, ur ram need to be tighten up during high speed. Btw.. Ur proc hit the wall already wth 255mhz @ 1:1 ratio? sweat.gif Not done yet.. Maybe vAGP not enough for high speed. Since u had pump more then 250mhz.. vAGP might be one of the concern which limiting u get beyond ur current speed.
*
dude .. not 5:4 la .. 4:5 one ... brows.gif .. it will show 500MHz at DRAM Frequency in bios ... if i set the FSB 200Mhz at bios with 4:5 divider .. i'm gonna get proc run at stock (3Ghz) while ram at 250MHz ... i'm wonder how it's gonna be if u apply it ... ur stock ram is 250Mhz rite? which means it's still got plenty of room for ocing ... if u set the FSB = 225Mhz .. ur proc gonna run at 3.6Ghz and ram at 281Mhz ... is it wonderfull if u can run at that speed ... tongue.gif ... please correct me if my calculation is wrong ... sweat.gif

Haha.. Sorry! Got flooded with game on mind. Owh yup. Tried that before actually, due my ram was PC4200 = 533mhz but unfortunately i cannot boot my system what that setting. Thats why i stick to 400mhz.
*
dude .. ur stock ram speed is 266Mhz aa?
