Seremban: "Allah selamatkan nyawa kami, jika tidak mungkin kami ditimpa runtuhan," kata Kamal Ariffin Md Arif, 51, yang terselamat apabila bahagian depan rumahnya di Taman Pinggiran Senawang di sini, tiba-tiba runtuh pagi ini.

Hanya beberapa saat memisahkan pasangan Kamal Ariffin dan isteri, Nor Zaini Nordin, 51, daripada dihempap runtuhan struktur bahagian depan rumah mereka dalam kejadian jam 4.30 pagi itu.

Kamal Ariffin berkata, ketika kejadian dia sedang tidur sebelum dikejutkan isteri dan memaklumkan terdengar bunyi dentuman dari bahagian hadapan rumah.

"Saya kemudiannya ke bilik anak di tingkat atas dan tengok siling plaster sudah runtuh, pada masa sama masih dengar bunyi seperti struktur rumah merekah.

"Saya bergegas keluar rumah dan ketika berdiri di bahagian luar pagar, tiba-tiba bahagian hadapan rumah kami runtuh sepenuhnya," katanya ditemui di lokasi kejadian.

Kamal Ariffin berkata, dia teringat isteri yang masih dalam rumah dan meminta tolong, namun lega selepas mengetahui wanita itu sudah keluar melalui pintu belakang.

Dia berkata, kejadian berlaku terlalu pantas dan dia serta isteri tidak sempat mengambil apa-apa barang termasuk telefon bimbit.

"Kalaulah saya tidak bangun ketika isteri kejutkan dan keluar rumah, tak tahu apa yang terjadi kepada kami. Saya rasa Allah memang nak selamatkan nyawa kami," katanya.

no lah whole row is double storey house, this house go extend the car porch area and build 2 storey extension on it.

Most likely the owner didn't do foundation piling to support 2 storeys, just cincai add beam on it and do slab on it, look at the weight the beam has to withstand with the solar panel, cement floor slab and metal truss roof

SEREMBAN – Pemilik rumah yang runtuh di Taman Pinggiran Senawang, di sini menafikan dakwaan segelintir pihak yang mengaitkan kejadian itu dengan kerja ubah suai.

Kamal Ariffin Md Arif, 51, yang bekerja sebagai Ketua Teknikal di Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) Seremban berkata, rumah berkenaan telah didiami sejak tahun 2012, manakala kerja ubah suai dilakukan kira-kira tujuh tahun lalu dan pemasangan panel solar pula sekitar empat tahun lepas.

Menurutnya, kejadian runtuhan struktur bahagian hadapan rumah itu berlaku di luar jangkaan dan tidak diketahui puncanya setakat ini.

“Apa yang terjadi ini di luar jangkaan. Saya reda kerana yang paling penting kami selamat.

“Setakat ini saya tidak tahu punca kejadian dan saya serahkan kepada pihak berwajib untuk menjalankan siasatan,” katanya ketika ditemui Sinar Harian pada Khamis.

Dalam kejadian sekitar jam 4.30 pagi itu, Kamal Ariffin berkata, dia sedang tidur sebelum dikejutkan isterinya yang memaklumkan terdengar bunyi dentuman dari arah hadapan rumah.

“Saya pergi ke bilik anak dan mendapati siling plaster sudah runtuh. Pada masa sama, masih terdengar bunyi seolah-olah struktur rumah hendak runtuh.

“Saya terus keluar rumah dan sebaik sahaja kami keluar, bahagian hadapan rumah runtuh sepenuhnya,” katanya.

Beliau berkata, kejadian berlaku terlalu pantas sehingga mereka hanya sempat menyelamatkan diri sehelai sepinggang.

Tambahnya, dia sempat menjerit meminta pertolongan kerana bimbang isterinya masih berada di dalam rumah, namun lega apabila dimaklumkan isterinya telah keluar melalui pintu belakang.

“Kalaulah saya tidak terjaga ketika isteri kejutkan, saya tidak tahu apa yang akan berlaku kepada kami,” katanya.

Dalam kejadian itu, runtuhan berkenaan turut mengakibatkan tiga kenderaan miliknya rosak, iaitu sebuah Toyota Alphard, Toyota Yaris serta sebuah motosikal.

Look at the front 2 column, most likely has no piling or footing to support the weight, once there is soil movement beneath the column will move and whole thing will collapse. I suspect the drainage which water seep into soil and cause soil movement.

For housing developer normally they do piling on the build up area including car porch, this one high chances didn't do piling on the extension.

That taman houses  got a lot of such stupid extensions. Got some houses run out of money to reno & jus left like that.

I have seen many hollow one, never see any with rebar.

If there is, I guess the rebar will be extended so that it can be connected to the beam or ground beam. Just like those pre-cast pillar.

The supporting columns looked too thin and probably underspec.

Imagine having a heavy slab supported by 2 thin columns.

By right it should be thicker or added more columns for support. The house was top heavy to begin with.

So if the one on the right runtuh, what is to say the other 2 with extra extension.

soil movement shifted the right pillar base, moving the weight bearing pillar and collapsing the structure above. The left pillar was partially supported by the neighbours extension, therefore stronger than the right.

you can see the rubble all collapsed to a single area, where the right pillar is. If is was pillar structural failure (ie no rebar etc etc) it would have collapsed early on, not after years
