Let's say you are given RM3k a month. No need to work, house fully paid, and you have a fully paid car.

Is it enough for you to live comfortably? Please let us know your thoughts.

Yes. Kids old enough to work. Mainly just for utilities, daily expenses and food.

just by keeping your car n house..

you pay :-

iwk
cukai taksiran
cukai tanah
elektrik
water
internet
car roadtax + insurance
oil change + service
car wear n tear replacement
house wear n tear replacement

then you calculate what's left for you to survive for next 40 years with food inflation of 6%.

Absolutely no

First 10 years maybe. But as inflation starts to creep in, your food, medication, house maintenance and car maintenance cost all gonna increase.... u won't last long.

What matters is health span, not lifespan.

say in a reality where everything is taken care off already and one just need to focus on self only...

i would have preferred 6K rm pm to be really comfortable...

cos just going out to a normal restaurant to eat non carb based meal would have cost me like 50 to 100rm.

TS, you asked “live comfortably”

Depends at what age band and health conditions.

Then you said “given 3k a month”, it’s a yes and no answer depending on which

1.Initial 3k from a public pencen?
2 3k from own dividen/ fd interest payout only or the eroding to 0 sum method?
3 3k from a child/ children given old man expense support?
4 a combination of above said?

So TS do tell age band, health and 3k source here

I doubt TS will reply me

Define comfortable la.

If everyday stay at home play MMO only then cukup lor. Only need pay internet, phone and aircon 1 biji. Makan self cook and weekend go out makan. Living alone like this probably enough to even save up rm800 per month. Can even go travel twice a year.
