Cos corrupt WM leaders control the revenue flow since independence. Money songlap n spent on tongkat benefits mainly WM, n EM remains poor. But things r changing cos EM knows they r the kingmakers now.

Same logic as walaun don’t like DAP , SJKC , PH. Etc
Same tactics but different bogeyman. They should dislike only BN and Tun M, not west Malaysia as a whole. However, recent concluded state election is good for Sabah. Hope the new government will be less corrupted, the wind of change for good governance is strong and no one can ignore including PMX. This post has been edited by toughguy: Dec 9 2025, 12:04 PM |

QUOTE(JimmyX @ Dec 9 2025, 12:09 PM) Thanks Jimmy for inviting. I should correct your term, Sabah/Sarawak does not dislike Peninsula. The perception of "dislike" is an end product that was brought about by the defense or demands of fulfilling MA63. - Sabah & Sarawak contributes significant portion of Peninsula's early successes; - But these 2 states are treated as golden goose in terms of Power (Votes) & Finance (Resources); - And gets minimal investment and returns in comparison, ultimately left behind economically; - After which, the 2 states rights are dismissed (Autonomy, Equal partners) - Peninsula people as seen as "Speaking from higher ground towards S&S, after S&S lifted them up"; - Therefore, the sentiment of demanding the return and ratification of the MA63 rights are gaining steam; - Which then is seen as "dislike" when it is really a combination of "disappointed with" and "had enough of". |

They are not looking towards east Malaysia for any development Just think, one day, gomen want private equities to invest and develop east Malaysia, which may be good to Malaysia as a whole For sure a lot of these company will feel pressured to pour money they don't feel like worth it Many would shift out , cause that what's capitalism is Take what you can, give nothing back |

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Dec 9 2025, 12:24 PM) You are wrong. Yup. Gardenia was set up in Sabah (East Malaysia), then grant the right to West Malaysia to set up Gardenia (KL). Gardenia Sabah (the original Gardenia) still make and sell Gardenia bread, but not the same as what you eat. In 1969, Horatio Sye Slocumm arrives in East Malaysia (Sabah) to start a bakery, bringing American baking expertise. Gardenia bread in Sabah tastes different because it's made by a separate company (Gardenia Food Industries) with its own recipes, ingredients, and operational systems, distinct from the Gardenia Bakeries (KL) that serves Peninsular Malaysia, leading to unique product lines, local adaptations, and different levels of sweetness or texture. They are legally separate entities with distinct management, resulting in different bread experiences despite sharing the brand name. |

Nobody owes anybody anything in life. Their leaders actually reflect their own mentality, because the leaders are born from among the people. Disagree. It could be right that, one nobody owes anybody anything in life. But this is different. MA63 is an actual binding agreement that needs to be upheld. You don't get to decide how much suffering then only can be considered as suffering. And when you talk about suffering, did you mean those that still have to take 2 hours of boat journey to seek medical assistance and get education? Do you mean those that still cannot get clean water supply despite multiple promises from PMX and past PMs? Are you just going to blame it on local politicians again? Despite having taken the wealth of Sabah & Sarawak for decades via attempts to consolidate power in federal level? Projek IC? Again. Your statement, is one that provokes anger and discontent towards peninsula. That dismissive and self righteous attitude. Walk the talk. Come live in pendalaman and take 2 hours of boat ride to town for paracetamol for a few years. Then I will acknowledge your so called "suffering". Otherwise, I will just consider your statements selective attention. QUOTE(RGRaj @ Dec 9 2025, 03:23 PM) In WM oso got many individuals who worked hard with not much assistance to come up in life. Nobody owes anybody anything in life. Their leaders actually reflect their own mentality, because the leaders are born from among the people. The hasil bumi belong to the Borneo people, if i am not wrong MA 63 basically signed with promise Borneo (Sabah) entitle for 40% of the net federal revenue collected from the state. after the 1st review (1969), Federal ( WM) never conducted the final review to confirm it and dragged their feet. It not about assistance its about you robbing their state but never gave them their share of the profit. When MA63 was signed Sabah & Sarawak were consider as partner meaning equal status but in 1976 (amendment the Consit) to list them as state rather than equal. You are talking a totally different thing. Do note Borneo cant do much because in Parliament they are outnumbered by WA MP. darosha liked this post

QUOTE(JimmyX @ Dec 9 2025, 12:35 PM) I never get it... Why East Malaysia (Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan) dislike West Malaysia / Peninsular Malaysia? SS have autonomy and they control 100 % immigration. Both also Malaysia what... big cultural difference , ex can party with tapai , so end of day same same . west hate east vice versaa. |

Brought up with the "propaganda" by politicians of WM gather their wealth and many issues, project IC, illegal logging...
Some r facts particularly in previous yrs shortchanged by BN government, but some issues unable proof and charge in court...white hair for example. The politicians all blame WM of all the issues, even until now. |
