Thanks Jimmy for inviting. I should correct your term, Sabah/Sarawak does not dislike Peninsula.

The perception of "dislike" is an end product that was brought about by the defense or demands of fulfilling MA63.

- Sabah & Sarawak contributes significant portion of Peninsula's early successes;
- But these 2 states are treated as golden goose in terms of Power (Votes) & Finance (Resources);
- And gets minimal investment and returns in comparison, ultimately left behind economically;
- After which, the 2 states rights are dismissed (Autonomy, Equal partners) - Peninsula people as seen as "Speaking from higher ground towards S&S, after S&S lifted them up";
- Therefore, the sentiment of demanding the return and ratification of the MA63 rights are gaining steam;
- Which then is seen as "dislike" when it is really a combination of "disappointed with" and "had enough of".

they think they are superior human being.

west malaysian are inferior.

Putting misrepresented words into other people's (and stereotyped) mouth

Don't you think that is a little unjust?

Coming from a mod

QUOTE(knwong @ Dec 9 2025, 12:57 PM)
It’s not hate

It’s ENVY

West envy the harmony and toleransi of EAST

East envy of West infrastructure

@JimmyX

As you can see, is what also contributed to the perceived "dislike".

Sarcasms and refusal to acknowledge what S&S has been contributing to the early successes of Peninsula, in which now is being returned as sarcasms and "envy".

Could you care to elaborate a little more?

As a mod, I believe you would understand few does not represent all, so I am curious to understand, what makes you make such a statement

So far what I have seen is more akin to what farkingdom has described, we feel that we are looked down upon

Rather than we look up on ourselves

especially when u go to brunei...

east malaysian working there are so full of themselves..

But how does that translate into "All" East Malaysians?

Wouldn't that be an extreme case of generalizing a few to all?

Somemore your situation stated its in Brunei, rather than in Sabah & Sarawak

i also went to kk and kuching...

i had first hand experience of people there...

well i have traveled close to 60 countries in the world but didnt know we can find them in our own backyard

This must be unfortunate and a bad experience for you

But let me urge you to give a second chance to reconsider or maybe for us to change your mind

Because, I am quite certain that most Borneon (S&S) does not sound or even behave like that

Anyhow, let me apologize for your bad experiences, you definitely did not deserve bad hospitality

In WM oso got many individuals who worked hard with not much assistance  to come up in life. Nobody owes anybody anything in life. Their leaders actually reflect their own mentality, because  the leaders are born from among the people.

Disagree. It could be right that, one nobody owes anybody anything in life.

But this is different. MA63 is an actual binding agreement that needs to be upheld. You don't get to decide how much suffering then only can be considered as suffering.

And when you talk about suffering, did you mean those that still have to take 2 hours of boat journey to seek medical assistance and get education?

Do you mean those that still cannot get clean water supply despite multiple promises from PMX and past PMs?

Are you just going to blame it on local politicians again?

Despite having taken the wealth of Sabah & Sarawak for decades via attempts to consolidate power in federal level? Projek IC?

Again. Your statement, is one that provokes anger and discontent towards peninsula.

That dismissive and self righteous attitude.

Walk the talk. Come live in pendalaman and take 2 hours of boat ride to town for paracetamol for a few years. Then I will acknowledge your so called "suffering".

Otherwise, I will just consider your statements selective attention.

east malaysia dont hate west malaysian la, come live here and experience our suffering is okay we love
we just hate that projects all goes to west malaysia, no pm ever big project here like we dont exist, like we dont need all the train like there's no ktm here, like how we need more money than the west malaysia and then didnt realise just to bring things from the west already cost more, ofkoz la we need to spend more money just to operate here, like that the west masih mengira duit, when we have more people and more land here. cant compare the state hospital budget here vs state hospital in the west, and then say why we spend more damn it
*
Exactly, when some talk about suffering, its as if they really did suffer.

Have to work OT to make ends meet? Good for you, people here can't even get a proper job.

Easy for them to highline all suffering when they are in the comforts of an air conditioned room with 24/7 power.
