I never get it... Why East Malaysia (Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan) dislike West Malaysia / Peninsular Malaysia?

my cousin married sabahan last time, other than my uncle/aunty, they dont reserved any table for our robongan lel. meanwhile they reserved tons of table close to pelamin pengantin for their family lel. accommodation, food, transport all sendiri settle.

race dont play a part on this as we all melies.

meanwhile kenduri that we did on our end, many meja reserved for those sabahan family, accommodation prepared lel.

Cos corrupt WM leaders control the revenue flow since independence. Money songlap n spent on tongkat benefits mainly WM, n EM remains poor. But things r changing cos EM knows they r the kingmakers now.

The perception of "dislike" is an end product that was brought about by the defense or demands of fulfilling MA63.

- Sabah & Sarawak contributes significant portion of Peninsula's early successes;
- But these 2 states are treated as golden goose in terms of Power (Votes) & Finance (Resources);
- And gets minimal investment and returns in comparison, ultimately left behind economically;
- After which, the 2 states rights are dismissed (Autonomy, Equal partners) - Peninsula people as seen as "Speaking from higher ground towards S&S, after S&S lifted them up";
- Therefore, the sentiment of demanding the return and ratification of the MA63 rights are gaining steam;
- Which then is seen as "dislike" when it is really a combination of "disappointed with" and "had enough of".

Thos private company also have good reason to maintain the status quo

They are not looking towards east Malaysia for any development

Just think, one day, gomen want private equities to invest and develop east Malaysia, which may be good to Malaysia as a whole

For sure a lot of these company will feel pressured to pour money they don't feel like worth it

Gardenia was set up in Sabah (East Malaysia), then grant the right to West Malaysia to set up Gardenia (KL).
Gardenia Sabah (the original Gardenia) still make and sell Gardenia bread, but not the same as what you eat.
