QUOTE(knwong @ Dec 2 2025, 02:34 PM) If lump sum purchase, don't want to be locked by monthly installation, can get cheaper price? I know quite a few buyer buy P2 cars just pay cash. Too cheap no. sebab they want that monthly leasing money from *ehem* website QUOTE The cost of the lease, with a fixed contract period of nine years (you can’t get a longer or shorter tenure), is RM275 per month excluding the 8% sales and service tax (SST), the latter putting the total figure to just under RM300. QUOTE(ketupatlazat @ Dec 2 2025, 02:30 PM) Surprise surprise Wait till QVE buyers learn that it is extremely hard to get your battery SOH to fall under 70%, summore this is CATL's LFP, one of the best ones in the market. You-d have to be actively engaged in battery deteriorating exercises such as leaving the batt at 0% or 100% for prolonged period of time to really screw up your battery. LFPs can last well longer than your 9 year car loan lulz no guarantee that replacement battery will be 100% SOH

Kinda weird. yeah, might as well do that instead. also since they gonna recover the battery should you miss payments, there's more likely that thieves can steal the batteries as well

I think this car is going to fail.
I want to buy a car, but there are so many terms and conditions, it’s very inflexible. Being inflexible is still okay, but the price is also so high. Perodua is not a high-end brand, so selling at this price will be difficult for the B40. The M40 will probably consider other brands.

They could have just sell the car + battery price and give 9 years unlimited mileage warranty. Might even save some cost on battery lease SST.
Same result, less confusion, just that they know they can't sell at that price.

Also QV-E is not a good name. Should've name it Perodua UpCar, which better describe the car and it's owner.

QUOTE If the battery’s SoH falls BELOW 70%, you can opt for a new battery from Perodua. However, you have to sign up for a new 9-year contract. If the battery’s SoH is still ABOVE 70%, you can continue using it, and there is no need for you to pay a monthly fee for the battery anymore. Let say the battery is now 8.5 years old and dropped to 65%. I go claim one new battery and I have to renew another 9 years contract? So no matter what or when, the moment you claim a new battery, the contract resets back to 9 years? If yes then what's the point? It's not like warranty anymore, cause still need to continue paying for the battery

If the battery is still within the mandated leasing period, the customer may simply continue paying the remaining monthly instalments without renewing the contract. However, if the damage is determined to be the customer’s fault, a new nine-year leasing agreement will need to be signed.
