Seriously I jealous with people that say their water bill below RM50 only. How you all do this? Mine since 20 years ago must be RM100 and above. How you guys do it? No take bath? No wash cloth using washing machine? No cooking? No wash pinggan mangkuk? I never wash car also. Always send to car wash shop. No leaking also. All clear.

QUOTE(shingo81 @ Dec 1 2025, 08:52 PM) Let me make you proud My water bill not even rm10/mth HAHAHAHAHAA mine the most billed was 10 ringgit. That's when I used lots of water to fill outdoor kiddy pool for my son to play. most of the month only at 5-6 ringgit. I did washing clothes weekly for 2-3 loads. my son often taking bath in kid bathtub. but my bills always low.

Chances are, there's water leakage. Do you use RO water filter? The machine often throw away water in the tank and replaces it. Once I measured, it filled an entire bucket from midnight to morning.
Anything that uses a floating ball may be compromised and causing water to overflow. Water tank, toilet cistern, etc.

100000% leaking.
Apparently this world damn a lot of sei sohai dont know how to check leaking or not. Speaking from experience. I had tenant swear keep say no leak but bill rm100 to rm200 then up to rm300. I had to hire plumber go check for him. Straight show me tangki already leaking non stop, water stain berlambak. The tenant reaction? "Ohhh ya ke, ini kira leaking ye? "

Else, the only things I can say is your neighborhoods water piping is connected to yours especially u mentioned above 100 for more than 200 years
btw, I assume your are using Air Selangor since your screenshot is from its apps...FYI , every states in Malaysia has their own Jabatan Air with different tariff

In fact i believe there's a huge hole beneath the house already due to water hakis for so many years. The house gonna roboh soon. Better ask real professional with specialised tools to check

QUOTE(diffyhelman2 @ Dec 1 2025, 10:01 PM) How did he find the exact spot there the leak was? First step is shut off all the taps in the house then check the meter. If the meter still running confirm got leak. Cheapest way is to replace all the pipes with external ones. Not neat and pretty like internal piping but no need waste time and money looking for the leak and breaking the wall and then redoing it. The next time it leaks it's easy to see where the leak is and you only have to replace that section of pipe.

QUOTE(diffyhelman2 @ Dec 1 2025, 10:01 PM) How did he find the exact spot there the leak was? Usually check water damage on wall. If got at least they know where to dig. The wall will have the paint damaged, kasar2. If no obvious sign. They usually reroute external pipe. No sane plumber going to hack your floor to find it.

Stupid ppl really damn a lot espcially in this country called Malaysia. Apply logic la, its damn near impossible rm100 with only 3 person. Normal human going to at least see water meter moving or not when no ppl in the house to rule out leaking. To reach rm100 the meter going to be constantly moving, got very obvious sound at midnight.

It is easy to tell if there is any water leakage. Just make sure all water is turned off inside house. Then go watch the water meter. If the meter number reading is still moving, then there is a confirmed leakage.
If you can ensure turning off water in house and the meter not moving at all. Then you can try to be sure by staying in hotel for one day, then compare the meter before and after, has the number increased? If no one at home, then water meter should not increase at all. If it increases, something is using the water.
Then just break it down by monitoring every hour etc, eventually will find the source.

You check the meter no correct or not ? Happened to me before (shop house), the Air company subcon came and changed the meter but they swapped my meter number with neighbor (I assume they wrote down manually). Used to get min payment RM6, but after meter change came up to more than RM100. Didnt realise because set on auto-debit until after almost 1 year + saw the bill.
Complaint to Air company, they asked to check internally. Hired plumber, he said tank got abit of leaking and charged RM200 to repair but still the bill was high. Then I did my own investigation. Finally found the meter no terbalik (neigbors usage was being charged o me). Air company sent tech to change meter again and then bill came to minimum Rm6 payment.
Visited Air company for more than 5 times, after more than 6 months ding dong with multiple documents, finally got the refund of RM2000+.
p/s; neighbor got like 6 member and they also kept quite and paying my minimum payment all the while.

How old is your house? If 3 decades old, most likely water pipe leak somewhere in the system. Ask your neighbours about their water bills. If yours stick out, you need to lay your pipes again. Don't ignore it cos it will build up into a sinkhole over time.

Wow RM125 per month is lot.. U do car wash business at home is it?
If 3 people in household... water usage should be less then RM30 or RM40 at most...
Suspect u got a leak after your meter, better u get someone to check or u test. At nite u turn off the main and only turn on in the morning. Monitor for 1 month see if water bill got drop or not.
If yes and usage is the same, highly likely u got a leak.
or your tariff is commercial rate?

QUOTE(WhatMan @ Dec 2 2025, 08:33 AM) I said barely hit that much. We got Sarawak gov discount. I shower twice daily. In Penang even if you do not use water at all, you still would have a monthly bill of RM5. So, when you said RM3, it looks like probably min charge is just RM3 even if you use less than that. That was my question.

I think since they know the house got forever alone, will waste money only if change the meter. But kedah minimum bill so chibai from RM6 to 7.5 to 8.50 in the span of 2 years

That is the water dept inefficiency at work. They don't care about maintenance nor profit. I was only fortunate to enjoy a broken meter for 6 months before they replaced a new one. Here in Johor, the minimum fee is RM10.50, so consider yourself fortunate they only charge you for like a cup of coffee.
