What is s2u2? The program is still in the SD card? I think the original HTC cube got bugs. As I said the launch button will always disabled by itself expecially in my case the key lock button.

If you were using s2u2 without a glitch then I better install it to replace the cube.

About the backlight issue, it not only happened in outdoor but sometime indoor. As example when the phone rings, but the backlight is not lighted. Under indoor condition I still can barely see the screen but in outdoor environment there is no way I could see anything.

Then about the "Device Locked" issue I am very sure there must be some bugs or programme crashes. I don't face this problem in my Dopod.

I wanted to upgrade it to WM6.1 but the ealier discussion in this thread suggested that our original Malaysia set is locked for upgrade. I am not sure this is true or not.

Anyone has installed the 6.1?

Some questions need to be answered by earl-ku.

As a TC user, I will try to help out a bit...I'm using stock ROM also.

S2U2 is basically a lock/unlock application which has other functions that implement the Iphone style finger sliding gesture. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=412418
I would suggest to put your key lock/device lock button on Today; lock your device on a single tap.

Backlight issue, never happened to my TC.

Device Locked. In my case, the hardware buttons still light up when pressed even I have locked the device (key lock). Happens to my TC once in a while, so far 3-4 times after 6 months of usage. Never serious, I just need to soft reset it. In your case, it might have something to do with your buggy key lock button programmed on the cube.

Yes you can flash it to WM6.1 but it would void your warranty, I think.

i was using s2u2 as it worked for me and basically i liked it ... it doesnt replae the cube, just that it locks the screen and give you this nice sliding app only

what questions?

as far as i can tell the issues Bowhunter raised have not been experienced by me before and if phylem has not encountered it before as well - you might wanna list out other 3rd party apps u have installed

or to perform a hard reset and install the 3rd party apps one at a time back into the Cruise and test it out ...

FYI am on Touch Pro but am not using s2u2 as it is causing batt drain, am now using Touchlockpro 1.92

So far I have not installed any 3rd party software. I only installed the bundled MapKing12, WorldCard Mobile and the PenPower. But even before I installed all these I already facing these problems.

Again today I experieced the failed backlight once and twice "Device Locked" but I still can press any button or even making calls.

When the backlight failed no matter which button I press it just couldn't light up by itself. I have to go to setting to adjust the brightness level back and fore to reactivate it again.

earl-ku did you keep S2U2 in the SD? I couldn't find it. I want to give it a try. Probably it could solve the key locked issue.

But for the backlight issue I still don't have any solution clue.

Regarding the WM6.1, I will wait until the warranty is over first. So far I am happy with WM6.0 so there is no hurry. I better solve my current issues before doing other things that may complicate the whole thing. Unless WM6.1 is my remedy. Which I doubt so.

Oh my GOD! This morning I just downloaded the S2U2 freeware and test run it for whole day. I love it man! The 2 issues that I mentioned did not happened (at least for today) at all. I am pleased!

By the way how to change the s2u2 default screen with flower to my desired picture?

And how is the wallpaper works? Both on battery power and on external power maximum off time is 60sec. But the minimum time to change each wallpaper is 1 min. I am confused. In the wallpaper option 5 File/Directory (Landscape) is blank. Does that mean I can change it to any photo and how?

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!!!

Quoted from Readme.txt, hope it helps.

Q. How to change wallpaper?

A. Create a jpg file with resolution the same as your device (QVGA is 240 x 320; VGA is 480 x 640); rename it to "wallpaper.jpg"; copy it to the gfx folder (default is \program files\s2u2\gfx\); restart iLock2. And the file "wallpaperL.jpg" is for the Landscape mode.

P/S: TC is a QVGA device.

Another way is to use S2V to make one of your folders the Wallpaper folder. S2U2 will randomly display those pictures in that folder as your wallpaper when you set it.

Must get the latest version. The previous versions of S2U2 are kind of buggy and drain battery life.

The latest version, which was released last month, is better but still a bit buggy. The greatest improvement is it doesn't drain battery anymore.

Btw, love the fact that, the TouchFLO Cube can still be called up without unlocking the device, but this can be disabled.

Phone might be old but some of us are just getting into it! icon_idea.gif
Inherited mine from a friend and so far it's been pretty good to me... Am loving it, and it's my first WinMo device, as well as my first PDA.
Anyways, on top of signing in and saying hi, I wanted to see if anyone else still using this phone has any issues with the scroll wheel... mine seems a little wonky... sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
I rarely, if ever, use the scroll wheel so it's not a big issue but wanted to see if it's a common prob.
Aside from that... like I said, gem of a device... still trying to wrap my head around all its functions but it's a solid little part of me already!

Cheers

I am having the same problem last few days back and did perform once hard reset but fail. Problem description as below:

Open Comm Manager and click Wi-Fi button, the application attempt to execute the Wi-Fi connection. After 3-4 seconds, it suddenly stop, meaning no connection can be establish, even the search for network icon wasn't there.

Hi fonda82, how much you paid for the hardware repair.

Does anyone meet this problem before and kindly give help.

Thanks.

All you'll need is PIM BAckup, a computer with internet access and a Gmail account.

1. Open PIM Backup on your Windows Mobile device. Select the Backup action and unselect everything but contacts, then hit Next.

2. At the "Select backup filename and folder" screen, unselect the "compress backup" and "binary backup" options, then hit Next.

3. Transfer the BACKUP.PIB file that you just made from your phone to your computer. Change the extension from .PIB to .RAR, then extract the file.

4. The extracted file should be BACKUP.CSC. Simply change the extension to .CSV and import the file to your gmail account. All your contacts can now be imported to your phone through gmail - just follow the instructions given in the phone's contact menu.
