Future proof, only 2 choices: samsung S series or pixel. Both have top notch specs and 7 years software update support.

Just stick to iphone. Android has no resale value.

Android ecosystem is rather bloated. Been using them for years. Mostly Samsung and pixel. Both drain battery like crazy. Iphone can last longer.

However, I'm still an Android user because I am too poor for apple.

if you have not used an Android before, not advisable to jump straight away to "flagship"... most Apple users will cry and jump back to iOS.

Get a cheap/ secondhand Android and try if it suits you. It is a different world out there on Android.

not recommend this.

x200fe got glitch in video recording, sometimes the video will be recorded in 10fps.

and the telephoto camera not up to flagship level, 55cm minimum focal distance lack of telephoto macro. M-shaped periscope design instead of L-shaped periscope.

like others above said, for android flagship choose either samsung or pixel je.

Now china phone Honor and Vivo very good camera.
transition from iOS, can recommend Nothing, but their 'flagship' specs is no value
Samsung is best bet, Oneplus is good value and specs.

Use separate device, get some midrange samseng with 7 years update, then another point and shoot camera.

Trust me, a decent digital camera blows any flagship smartphone camera out of water.

This setup gives u higher value for money, unless u dunwan carry too many device

Google pixel. Can use for 5 years plus tanpa was-was. Forever upgrades and security updates like ipong, unlike samseng or any ccp fone. Decent camera 48mp, not fake 200mp.

My daily is 3 Android phones and 2 iPhones.

Android did all the work while the iPhones served as camera and CarPlay.

Partly because my Android phones still on old limited data plan.

Get yourself 2nd hand model first. If okay, then get the latest flagship one.

Plenty to choose from. Xiaomi, Samsung, Pixel, etc. sweat.gif

More secure than samseng, always kena attack or exploits. Google now no.2 in security software provider, so kena jaga prestasi. Either apple or pixel is now more secure than ccp or kimchi.

Pixel phones run a clean version of Android with minimal bloatware and receive timely updates directly from Google—similar to how iPhones receive iOS updates.

As for battery life, it's not a simple Android vs. iPhone issue. Battery performance varies significantly across models, usage patterns, and software optimization.

While most Android devices excluding Pixel phones may suffer from bloat or battery issues, it's not a universal truth. If you're switching from iPhone and demand the most seamless integration with less shock, go for Pixel phones and nothing else when switching to Android.

I have been using Chinese Android phones for many years now, 15 years if not more from Xiaomi to Huawei and currently Vivo. All these phones stand the test of time without any issue. The phones are only upgraded either because the speed is too slow or laggy, or certain apps don't work anymore due to the outdated system. My Huawei Mate 20X was thrown by my mischievous 2-year old niece high up into the air and landed on tile or concrete floor more than 100 times, not a scratch to the phone and it still works like normal. It had a protective case on it though so that would have helped. The Huawei was replaced by a Vivo earlier this year as Air Selangor 2.0 app couldn't work with the phone anymore.

No green lines on the screen though i noticed a colleague also had this green lines on the phone, not too sure if it's a Samsung as I didn't ask.

It will depend on the individual on how important is resale value of a phone. To me I don't look at resale value as the phone will either be discarded or given away to small kids (if they are still working) when I upgrade to a new phone. Anyway it's not frequent for me to upgrade phones and based on the longevity of the phone and my usage pattern, it's usually ~5 years on average the phones are upgraded, and by that time the phone is considered worthless even though it may be a flagship during its time.

Even a 5 year-old iphone has strong resale value.

My wife changes her phone every 2 years due to contract. Can still sell around 60% of RV, which is not too bad. For androids can keep aside. Hence, I usually use my phone for 4 to 5 years before changing.

Good to know that the iPhone has good resale value even for a relatively old 5-year model. Anyway all the Android phones I have are not expensive. The old phones are all below RM2k, and the latest Vivo although MSRP was about 4.8k I bought if for only RM2.2k.

Yes but they are currently the least bloated androids on the market. Clean U/I, hence, they are my first to go Android phones.

Not a fan of iphone, hence, have never switched to one. Everyone around me uses an iphone, so having an Android is bit of a difference.

Yes. That's the thing. Android phones are retailed high during launch and waterfalls after 6 months. Unlike iphone, prices are rather stable, thus, the high resale value.

Coz TS has been using iphone. He should just stick to iphone. Not worth moving to android given that the price difference is not that much comparing flagship to iphone. Taking the resale value into consideration, I would say iphone worth more.

if you like to take pictures and video, stay on iphone. Iphone is still the king in video recording.

if you are not that type of user, you can move to android if you want.
just choose one with at least snapdragon 8 elite.

on smoothness wise, it is now on par with iphone. which previously was not the case.

2.2k is a good price. Which Vivo model and what was the promo package that knocked the price down that much?

I'm using Huawei Mate 30 Pro. Need to change as bank apps are complaining about the OS.

2.2k is a good price. Which Vivo model and what was the promo package that knocked the price down that much?

I'm using Huawei Mate 30 Pro. Need to change as bank apps are complaining about the OS.

It's the Vivo X90 Pro. I actually bought 2 units, one for ~2.3k and another one for 2.2k for my mother after about 2 months when the price dropped further. Brand New from official Vivo store on Lazada. During sales period the promotion vouchers are very high, 7 July, 8 August, 9 September etc.

The X100 Pro was already selling for almost 1 year while the X90 Pro stock is still available and being cleared at rock bottom prices. There are few who bought it at slightly below 2k later through the months until all are out of stock.

There are a few super channels on YouTube giving yearly best phones awards in categories, you can start as reference then go shops and test out.
