Just stick to iphone. Android has no resale value.
Android ecosystem is rather bloated. Been using them for years. Mostly Samsung and pixel. Both drain battery like crazy. Iphone can last longer.
However, I'm still an Android user because I am too poor for apple.

QUOTE(squareballs @ Nov 29 2025, 08:37 AM) I same boat as TS.. dunno which android flagship to jump to Don't jump if you can afford iphone. Better resale value. Can easily change phone yearly. Androids have literally 0 resale value.

QUOTE(SkyCaptain @ Nov 29 2025, 10:40 AM) Pixel phones run a clean version of Android with minimal bloatware and receive timely updates directly from Google—similar to how iPhones receive iOS updates. As for battery life, it's not a simple Android vs. iPhone issue. Battery performance varies significantly across models, usage patterns, and software optimization. While most Android devices excluding Pixel phones may suffer from bloat or battery issues, it's not a universal truth. If you're switching from iPhone and demand the most seamless integration with less shock, go for Pixel phones and nothing else when switching to Android. Im on pixel 9. I have always on clean android. Battery and resale value sucks.

QUOTE(ryder_78 @ Nov 29 2025, 10:54 AM) It will depend on the individual on how important is resale value of a phone. To me I don't look at resale value as the phone will either be discarded or given away to small kids (if they are still working) when I upgrade to a new phone. Anyway it's not frequent for me to upgrade phones and based on the longevity of the phone and my usage pattern, it's usually ~5 years on average the phones are upgraded, and by that time the phone is considered worthless even though it may be a flagship during its time. Even a 5 year-old iphone has strong resale value. My wife changes her phone every 2 years due to contract. Can still sell around 60% of RV, which is not too bad. For androids can keep aside. Hence, I usually use my phone for 4 to 5 years before changing.

QUOTE(Zhik @ Nov 29 2025, 11:28 AM) Samseng n pixel are overpriced. Yes but they are currently the least bloated androids on the market. Clean U/I, hence, they are my first to go Android phones. Not a fan of iphone, hence, have never switched to one. Everyone around me uses an iphone, so having an Android is bit of a difference.

QUOTE(ryder_78 @ Nov 29 2025, 11:34 AM) Good to know that the iPhone has good resale value even for a relatively old 5-year model. Anyway all the Android phones I have are not expensive. The old phones are all below RM2k, and the latest Vivo although MSRP was about 4.8k I bought if for only RM2.2k. Yes. That's the thing. Android phones are retailed high during launch and waterfalls after 6 months. Unlike iphone, prices are rather stable, thus, the high resale value. Coz TS has been using iphone. He should just stick to iphone. Not worth moving to android given that the price difference is not that much comparing flagship to iphone. Taking the resale value into consideration, I would say iphone worth more.
