After years of combating corruption, corruption is still very rampant in china. You have to wonder if he's actually combating corruption or removing his opponents. But then at the same time, many of his closest allies have also been pull down from their seats because of corruption. There are many factions in china with their internal infighting. That is why i highly doubt he can even solve corruption.

Corruption is still very rampant? Says who? The situation has improved tremendously compared to the wild 90s lah.

No matter what China do, it will never be good enough to certain people.

Typical BBC comments of "at what cost"

Let's not even talk about low level officials. Look at the PLA Rocket Force. 9 top generals have been purged. Healthcare/hospital corruption, banking sector etc. The list goes on. If even some of the highest officials are corrupted, let's not even talk about those low level officials.

The nine officials are:

He Weidong - Vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC)
Miao Hua - director of the CMC's political work department
He Hongjun - executive deputy director of the CMC's political work department
Wang Xiubin - executive deputy director of the CMC's joint operations command centre
Lin Xiangyang - Eastern Theatre commander
Qin Shutong - the Army's political commissar
Yuan Huazhi - the Navy's political commissar
Wang Houbin - Rocket Forces commander
Wang Chunning - Armed Police Force commander

people wanna ask why HK is HK today

the fire hasn't even been completely extinguish yet, the police already arrested multiple people and pressed charges
ICAC also begun their investigation

the level of efficiency of law enforcement there

Arresting only 2 directors and 1 consultant aren’t much to boast about.

I will applaud them if they immediately invite the officials for investigation, the officials who downplayed earlier whistleblowing about the fire hazards more than a year ago.

Eh,, here also ma. Albert just raided and arrested before his statement on Monday. No? Super efficient this time cos 2 Persons of Interest was named in the recordings. But odd la. Why the person who admitted that these two persons of interested are involved are not arrested but the person recording and exposing this are arrested. Very odd, no?

Did i say Emperor Xi was not combating corruption? You're arguing that corruption was not rampant. I gave a counter argument. Look at the statistics. The trend of people who are convicted of corruption with a sentence of 5years and above including death sentence is increasing yearly from 2017 - 2124 cases all the way to 2024 - 6630 cases.

Of course there are still corruption. Which country can totally eradicate corruption?

The point is there's a big effort to combat corruption and it's not like the 80s or 90s anymore. Heck it's not even like the 2000s. Remember the old Stephen Chow movie From Beijing with Love. There's a funny scene where he bribe the prison guard to get out. It might be a joke but that was how bad corruption was back then. Do you think it's the same today? The trend of people getting caught for corruption is increasing which means there are genuine effort to combat corruption. Is that not better?

China's score on the Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index has improved from 32 to 45 between 2001 and 2024. Malaysia in 2025 is 50.

Very different scenario, comparing apple to orange.

The HK tragedy is work in progress, the authority immediately associate the rapid fire with plausible breach of rule.

The Petronas pipeline explosion has no immediate clue to the cause.

If u check, air humidity in Hong Kong is only 30% humidity now.

Probably that's why everything becomes flammable. When humidity drops below 30% vegetation all releases moisture

Probably all air moisture has been dragged to the typhoon hitting SCS now

how is it different?
how is it work in progress when they already saw so much fault and wrongdoing that is illegal
hence the arrest is made immediately and already charged

here, at 1st say kena tengok teliti thn found everything wrong but yet no arrest is made at the end...basically spiderman pointing at each other doh.gif
and if i remember correctly, the whole investigation took months....if we let our cops to investigate the HK multiple story building...is it gonna take years? hmm.gif laugh.gif
