Any high RV cars, 2nd hand car dealers are willing to fight for it

My friend want to sell his W205 last time during COVID since low usage, he simply put up advert to test water...so many contact him, personal or dealer asking to sell to them. In the end he decided not to, knowing if he kept it, he won't loose much at all

RV is directly proportionate with the ease of maintenance. That's why myvi very good rv, because it's really cheap af and easy to maintain.

Which also leads to the redundancy point, why would u want to sell away car that is cheap and ez to maintain.

I am maintaining myvi and accord both from 2011. surprisingly myvi can sell roughly same price with accord. lol. either way i just continue using my accord and sold the myvi away. If i buy a brand new 150k car every year i lose 10k on depreciation alone. Might as well use the money to maintain my nicely cared accord. The only down side is ppl no look up to me but luckily my self value isnt tied to opinion of others.

agree, but hor like for instance old car sure need to change suspension system, car value like 30k but for you to change the whole suspension system (lower arm la , spring, bush, etc etc) already cost Rm5k (talking the original brand itself not OEM or shoppe), or like x5 car value left with 60-80k, but if you want to change original parts can cost up to 30-40k jor.

surely can change other OEM , but surely not the same feeling anymore.

So many Malaysians are mentally and emotionally challenged. They buy a crappy car and tolerate its shortcomings including lack of crash safety for 5/7/9 years just to resell it at a slightly higher value to buy another crappy car and go through the same cycle again. In between they laugh and deride those who bought cars that made them happy instead of thinking about only RV. They do this because it makes them feel good about themselves and feel less crappy about their shitty econo coffinbox.

for me suspension rosak is considered solvable problem, compared to engine overhaul or banjir car. Once u change the suspension almost guaranteed kawtim the problem.

then we are back to the main point, no rv usually is because it's difficult and expensive af to maintain. And these are the car that infamous for being expensive and low rv. Now same scenario, u buy toyota mpv brand new rm400k, the rv actually is very good even after 10 years. Main reason why almost every T20 household will have 1 biji.

The real clown is M40 ppl buying 200k entry level conti car. They are the one kena buttfuck by year 5 because everything starts breaking down and they got no limb to trade because already potong'd when they buy the car brand new.

Most people care about resale value because they always buys car above their ability. If you can really afford the car, you don't care about the RV.

So simple formula is, buy car that are 12x your salary, if want to be conservative use nett salary else gross.

If you do that, you can't be bothered by the resale value.
