Symptom: pass hump around 20-40km/h got knocking "krak krak" sound , usually happens during heavy rain or after heavy rain when undercarriage is wet. This is key point

So I changed stabilizer link (satay pin)

But still same

So halfway through after pass a hump today, I open bonnet. Lo and behold

Since suspension warranty ended after 3 years, settle outside. change both side absorber mounting and bearing

2 things here

1. you're not supposed to go through speed bumps at 30-40KM/H
2. parts today isn't as good as last time anymore

i also recently change my rear absorber bushing because got metal clanking sound...turns out it's the rear mounting bushing since there is no visible damage at all(absorber still works as intended)

1st owner probably used as workhorse car carrying heavy stuff in the boot is woso possible.

Coz i used my old honda kity as workhorse woso. carry heavy2 big carton of those drinks for my vending machine part time biz.

Bushing and mount woso can gg faster.

Myvi Ori can range from rm 130 for cap ayam to rm 300 for Ori.

rubber will disintegrate over time due to many factors

the rubber is between the chassis and the absorber, absorbing much of the impact and load
the material and quality of the rubber will determine how long it last

Get silicone mounting and bushing.
Anyway, not expansive.
Btw it is top part and can diy.
Gao dim.

i dont understand how they fix the rubber to the chassis, i didn't see bolts.

the rubber is bolted to the absorber = yes
but the absorber is bolted onto the chassis...and that makes the rubber in between

Weight of the car too heavy for the suspensionand chassis set up

Haiya aged Toyota car notorious of Kluk Kluk undercarriage noise, many years ago family bought old Altis 1.8 ZZE122 I think, replaced lower arm, steering rack end, 4 pcs absorbers and absorber mounting, absorber links, anti roll bar bushes etc, still Kluk Kluk after 1-2 weeks, every time seek workshop repair something the noise will disappeared for a while which we thought finally it's fixed, but just false hope

Even that power steering rack (hydraulic type) mounting we also let the workshop dismantled and sent to machine shop replaces the bushes

You need to go to those workshops with the chassis goyang machine.

Ask to sit inside while they goyang the car.

My Yaris also problem. Complain until now I have to pay myself to settle it. Support sub assembly and bumper sub assembly the front pair. Rm1k. After done no more sound from the absorber.

ps, still better than Honda got kuk kuk steering rack issue though

at least with honda you know it's steering rack, can replace and it's resolved, this is worse lol

Change all the suspension parts to ori first...

555 is good brand. Famous Thai brand

U sure is ori Sankei or not first...

Absorber mounts, absorber stopper, engine mounts also change. Not sure if your drive shaft still ok, if mech kata ok can maintain.

Btw nothing beats ori shock mounts.

I go to SC almost every single week since I bought the car but only more problems pop out instead of solving the existing problems.

Second hand car dealer only offer me 60-70k after one year.

Thumb of rules after being take over, settle it with every possible technician can. Else check the warranty tnc.

You need to do your due diligence to see whether the original parts last or not

In my case , I die die won't buy back original Toyota lower arm since I suspect got defect.

Steering rack / absorber if original lasted you 7 years then I feel can buy back original

Steering rack non original seriously hit or miss. Ok to buy aftermarket if it's your 2nd car

Personal opinion, if you can buy parts with 555 sankei brand, go for it

Purposely went through water and test back on pass hump

Still got same sound

beside fuel consumption, but not too bad

the car still work baik2 + aircond sejuk

so far no family member company that.
i did notice it slightly low air speed and higher temp compare to front airvent. but i think probably due to only 1 single blower at front doing all job.
and the cold air running thru the duct too far away.

Full tank I get about 400km, stop go traffic.
Rarely drive that car, dalam sebulan 1 tank petrol pun tak habis.

All tip top condition, next month gonna sent for repaint and change head light, yellow dy.

Actually its my sis car, she go oversea kerja so car dump at my place, sebagai abang u panai2 lor kasi redo everything.
Ive changes quite a lot of things on that car.
