On behalf of someone else (who to kid, my boss la), I am looking to the possibility of getting driver for him.

It could be long term basis or ad-hoc. But we not employing him as we prefer them a third party.

It also can be daily driver where he is paid daily or we pay then claim for company. (though i will tell him do you plan to get kidnapped in this way?)

Since i am not familiar with the market in klang valley, and recommendation from the masters here?

ok - so speaking from experience, our boss dulu2 also have driver -

Driver #1 - was office dispatch, some time office not much work for him - boss will ask him drive around - he can borak2 with bos and the passengers la, fren and family, so some time gossip2 he can spill some kacang brows.gif he was single, and willing work till late - but after kahwen, he really struggle to juggle - in the end he left to his own transport/logistic thing, iinm lalamove but long time already.

Driver #2 - this one was 100% professional, purely to drive the boss only - even came with his own uniform, and GLOVES - yes, like you watch those Jason Statham transporter movie, very professional, no simply chit chat borak in car one - while it give the orang kaya vibe, not very flexible - 9am to 6pm means, just that, no OT or etc unless paying way higher rates for the extra hours. This one never step into opis other than the 1 time he came in for interview. He just spend whole time standby around the car - what boss like is he really jaga the car la, smoke also is outside, no smoke/makan/minum in the car - if boss not go anywhere, he will prompt to send for wash polish.

very different 'level' of service but same driver job scope sweat.gif but yea, like evrythg else - if you using a 3rd party - there will be risk la - is how you assess the individual during interview, and dont skimp on running any necessary background checks IF you feel the need to thumbsup.gif

I think you should be looking if security services companies offer such services.

My friend based in PJ he hire 5k-6k for full time home driver and car is provided. They don't last long. Two back to back hiring within 4 months.

I drive Grab, I suggest ehailing instead if you prefer less commitment but everyday will hire different driver. Can your kid cope with strangers?

My neighbour hire the same grab driver to send and pick up their son to and from school, much cheaper compared hire a personal driver

ah, sorry, i mean who to kidding.

it is my employer looking for driver.

but then since he is an expat, he will face the same problem like our malaysian kid.

I also dont think he can cope with strangers (he is not ang moh, he is from country thinking Malaysia is a third world country slightly better than Africa, if you know what i mean).

The nature of this driver i need will be serving the employer almost full time.

basiically you need chauffeur him to office, events, functions and home.

Sorry I misinterpreted that part.

Ignore his attitude. If the pay is good and transportation is provided perhaps there might be people willing to take up the full time job. SG hire a full time driver about $4k-$5k. A full time Grab who drive 12-15 hours a day, on a good rate is close to that range before commission deduction.

If you hire Grab daily, on peak hour and nobody willing to accept the job. You may become that Asian that can't do a simple job. 😏
