All my previous phones can't seem to last a whole day before it requires charging. My current phone the Vivo X90 Pro's battery capacity is 4870mAh and it can't last up to 12 hours with moderate to heavy use, and I will need to charge it in the afternoon as the battery power drops to less than 50% with moderate to heavy use.
I was wondering, if looking at the battery spec what is the capacity that one would be looking at for the phone to last at least 12 hours with moderate to heavy use, say 7am to 7pm. Will a phone with 6000mAh+ battery capacity be able to last up to 12 hours with moderate to heavy use?

It all comes down to how well the companies optimised the power usage of their phones
no use putting a 7k mAh battery in a phone if optimisation is still shitty.

Right, if that's the case, perhaps there is little point in looking at the spec of the battery and it may be more useful to seek first-hand experiences from people who own the phone that is in consideration.

QUOTE(angelgemini @ Sep 26 2025, 10:46 AM) Honor X9D is able to last 12 hours with heavy use without requiring charging? Unfortunately that phone doesn't appeal to me. My future phone will be one that comes with a 6000mAh+ battery capacity which isn't launched in the market yet.

China made product were known to look good on paper, but might not be that good in term of optimization.

I have just checked the battery capacity on few phones on GSMArena but not on the endurance.

As we all know, battery capacity is not the only criteria that is important in the selection of phones as there are other more important criteria that take precedence over battery capacity.

Let's face it - most phones you used having the same poor battery lasting - you did mentioned heavy usage. You urself might be the only one who can benchmark on you own usage. Maybe can start with few basic tuning. Lower down to 60fps, and tune down the brightness to you check if these features drain the battery power? Go thru what other things you done in your phone. And no, if you play game or 3d game frequently, Nothing can last 12 hours for that. 3D gaming battery draining is basically random and unknown

The Vivo X90 Pro scores 96H endurance rating which is 4 days of battery life?

Brightness of the screen is usually at 50% or slightly less, it's on Auto-brightness setting. Perhaps it's the continuous listening of music via earphones on the phone which contributes to the higher drain of power.

Getting Started

|
I have a Samsung Note 20 5G that drains a lot of battery because of social media apps such as WeChat that constantly checking for new messages/notifications -> 700MB+ size apps that doesn't make sense to me. I can't uninstall it because need to communicate with relatives because they said they only use wechat often than whatsapp, and I hate it.
What you need to do is uninstall Facebook, it's one of the culprits that drains your battery phone.

I will take note and check on some useless apps which I don't use at all which are already pre-installed on the phone previously when I bought the new phone. It is true sometimes some of these apps will send notification and I need to clear all the notification of these useless apps which I don't use. Perhaps all this is draining the power of the battery as you have mentioned.

Some apps can't be deleted so I can just turn off the notification.
