I was curious about the student diversity of University Malaya's accounting course, so I looked up last year's graduation roll.

As it turns out, the local students who graduated last year were approximately,
Malays: 35%
Chinese: 53%
Indians: 12%

This means that for this particular batch of students, when compared against the ethnic composition of Malaysia, the Chinese are actually 209% against our nation population the Indians are 159% , and the Malays are at 52%

Matriculation and ASASI were tongkats created cos Malays cannot compete under STPM system. So now, the joke is Melayu sudah pandai, adoi. Pandai betui. Just look at the list of top students graduating in all universities lah.

People are ignoring that there are few more columns in Meritrocracy table

Please add

1. Household income
2. Connection cable

Public U even though funded by taxpayer money. these universities are prioritized for lower income background that's why the fees are low due to subsidy.

If that Wong guy came from B40 family he'll be in UM already for sure.

In the past, it was a quota system, and he wanted meritocracy. When it became meritocracy, Bumiputera numbers increased even more because they were strong.

Now he’s bringing up the STPM vs. Matriculation issue, claiming that Matric is another quota. He tries to exaggerate by giving an example of someone ranked 1129 in STPM who didn’t even take Math but wanna take account

He says Matric students are “dumb,” even though those entering Matric are among the selected top SPM students. To him, STPM is a higher caste and more powerful.

Now he wants to abolish Matric and make everyone take STPM.

Fast forward, even in STPM Bumiputera will dominate because of population numbers while the nons birth rate lower—just look at SPM results as the closest example where even with single exam the bumi dominate in high score

How many self-funded full and how many subsidized? This doesn't tell a complete story.

“When I entered Form Six, I had only one dream – to be accepted into UM’s Accounting programme. I poured in all my energy, time and effort, fighting through the most challenging syllabus in the country. I never gave up because I believed that if we gave our all, the results would come,” Wong said at a press conference at Wisma MCA on Monday (Sept 8).

Khoo G.S.(2025) Top STPM scorer denied UM Accounting course despite near-perfect results. The Star, 8 September 2025.

Seems like our local sampah uni(s) does have the pull factor after all eh

Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM)

UM from a ranking perspective is no longer sampah university. Thats why he die die want to go in there.
I believe that UPU got this one right but I disagree with all the people saying that accounting require maths at the STPM level. Accounting math is basically plus, minus times and divide - don't need fancy financing calculations formulas.
