Not sure where to post, so ask here..

Hi any feedback on Suunto watches?
looking to upgrade my dated 3 year old non touch screen Garmin Forerunner..

Forerunner 570 is at around RM2200
Forerunner 970 is at around 2.9k

Thinking to try Suunto, any feedback on them?

TQ..

what sport do you usually do? This will cause your choice to vary.

Garmin are the "apple" of sport ecosystem . If you are locked in the ecosystem, very hard to change .

why not consider coros as well?

hard to advice if you don't say what your specific main sports .

For me I'm into triathlons and trail running (breadcrumbs navigation) so the forerunner 9++ series suits me well.

forerunner 55 is good enough for me.

you need to define what you are going to use it for.

do you need full color map ? or breadcrumb is enough?

are you already comfortable with Garmin Connect? or prepared to use other ?

ask me i need 970 coz of the map. but if not because of garmin connect, i already buy the Suunto Races S

I hilang Suunto 8 years back. Used for timing my cycling downhill in karak . Very accurate and robust watch. Bought 2nd hand. Very sturdy.

Didn't try Garmin.

Sorry, forgot to mention, I fall down alot , some high speeds but mostly low speeds.
Rocky hilly areas as I did alot of mountain biking and terrain cycling. Suunto survived all. Hence very very robust.

Try COROS

Really lightweight and get the job done. Been using my pace 2 for 3 years already ( one time replacement of whole watch brand new) and can’t seem to find reason to replace it

Happy with battery life and happy with how light this is

I'm using Fenix 7x. Quite happy for Garmin ecosystem. Used to wear Coros Pace (first version).
Only thing about garmin is each time they release a firmware update, you need to check garmin forums to see if there is any bug, especially battery consumption. I'm still using a very old firmware.

Suunto user since 2017. Rugged and reliable. I use it in the gym or running. 2nd one now since the first strap kaput 3 years ago due to rubber degradation. Cheaper than Garmin and sturdier since less gimmicks.

my 935 could last me 2 weeks in a single charge. current latest 900 series can last much longer.

don't criticize a watch brand because you buy a 200 series. get the best, then compare.

im garmin all the way. 5 years having my 935, no problem at all... it may last me a few more years. well worth the purchase.

I only use Suunto and still using now. Build like a brick hardware wise and battery last very long as the display less colourful and bright. From Suunto core, Suunto ambit 3 and now Suunto 9 baro. All still working but I sold off ambit 3.
However software support is going downhill after company acquired by amersport. But still built in Finland I think.
Garmin I know software support is better and morre mainstream users.
I think if you needs lot of feature, go for Garmin. If only need basic feature and long lasting go Suunto.

If you need the convenient, stick to garmin
If want try something new, Suunto nice and solid build

of cos if budget allow it, go for it.

me go for Amazfit T-Rex 3 due to really cheaper and long lasting battery life.
Heard the T-Rex 3 Pro just release recently.
btw me not pro sport user, so the data from Amazfit will do for me for now.

For Suunto can we add custom activity to record pickleball/badminton/tennis?
