yes- it could be too oily for some.
As alternative- i do purchase online- approx Rm 600/kg/ either steak cut or yakiniku cut.
recently also going to WMArt - they have nice selection
> Aust wagyu around rm 450-500 /kg
> Japanese Wagyu around RM 850 /kg
and 20% discout if purchase in a block. very much worth it.
another choice is Jyu Jyu yakiniku..... Just rm 200 per pax, buffet with 300g of Aust wagyu+ various dessert. and other beef cutting as well. Free flow
When I first started makan Japanese wagyu. I saw rm699/kg wah so cheap. Turns out its not the choice cut. Basically the oyster blade or the rump. As alternative- i do purchase online- approx Rm 600/kg/ either steak cut or yakiniku cut.

Your Japanese rm850 is what cut ? Sirloin? Usually those not in block is around rm1299-1599/kg for sirloin
Anyway. I think these days I prefer Aust wagyu. Not too fatty and you csn sear it. With Japanese wagyu Hardy can have charred surface.
