QUOTE(hoonanoo @ Sep 1 2025, 11:15 AM) My condo has been plague by Pigeons. they all go like to go to my split unit air cond there to shit and lay eggs. I complained to municipal council and MO: they all gave me this ridiculous reply, Pigeons are protective species. Duh... they crap and spread disease like bird flu, and nothing is done about this??? I am puzzled. The spray water and clean area at split unit air cond, they still come back. Some people resort to even put up mosquito netting to prevent them from coming sometimes I drive nearby, I see idiots feeding these pigeons, feel like giving them a piece of mind. real nuisance. What to do? QUOTE(COOLPINK @ Sep 1 2025, 11:23 AM) Pigeon protect species? Next time take video and viral it see next time they still think people are naive or not. QUOTE(Chanwsan @ Sep 1 2025, 12:51 PM) Where is your retarded council? Pigeon protective species lmao. Literal flying rats Some type of pigeons in Malaysia are protected species. If you are keen, just lastik them only Not sure the ones invading TS space is which species. I guess the town council staff u talked to are referring to these species, but he also not sure, and lazy to find out. |

Had this problem at one of the ACs. They love nesting in the gaps between the compressor and the walls. Did everything including putting spikes, pour boiling water during nights, or picking up the eggs but that only stopped the current couples and still new couples will replace them sooner than you thought.
So all I did is to hang the compressor by 40cm to expose the floor and ever since then they stopped nesting. The only part that you need to beware of is they may try to enter the compressor (which is impossible to nest in but their feathers may be stuck to the fin) or nest around the steel bracket that carries the compressor, but that is much more manageable as you can either push of the nest to plummer down or you can choose to pick up the eggs for a nice snack or destroy the in front of this flying vermins. |

The Silvery Pigeon in Malaysia is found exclusively on small, coastal islands and archipelagos, particularly those off the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak |

Bird Spikes: These are rows of stainless steel or plastic spikes that are harmless but prevent pigeons from landing on ledges, windowsills, and other flat surfaces. They are a very common and effective solution.
Bird Gels and Repellents: There are various gels and pastes that can be applied to surfaces. Pigeons dislike the sticky sensation on their feet and will avoid landing on the treated area. Some modern "optical gels" are designed to appear like fire to birds from a distance, deterring them visually as well. Reflective Surfaces: Pigeons are easily spooked by bright, moving lights. Hang old CDs, reflective tape, or small mirrors to create flashing lights that will deter them. Ultrasonic Devices: These devices emit high-frequency sounds that are irritating to pigeons but are generally inaudible to humans. They can be motion-activated to scare birds away as they approach. Wind Chimes: The sound and movement of wind chimes can be startling to pigeons and discourage them from settling in. Strong Scents: Pigeons dislike strong smells. Sprinkle strong spices like black pepper, chili powder, or cinnamon on ledges and roosting areas. You can also create a spray using strong-smelling essential oils like peppermint or eucalyptus oil mixed with water and a little dish soap. Vinegar Spray: A mixture of diluted white vinegar can be sprayed on surfaces. The smell is unpleasant to pigeons and can also help with cleaning droppings. Chili Pepper Spray: A solution of crushed chili peppers in water and vinegar can be sprayed on areas where pigeons are a problem. The capsaicin in the peppers irritates them. |

QUOTE(nelson969 @ Sep 1 2025, 11:05 PM) You can buy those netting from mr diy. A big roll costs around rm 30. Then cut to the size you want. Use zip tie to hold the netting together then place it behind your ac compressor to deter them hiding behind your ac and lay eggs. This post has been edited by iOrange: Sep 4 2025, 12:54 PM nelson969 liked this post
