It was a broad statement, but let's nitpick.

Sure they will, doctors don't always have all their medicines in stock. For example, antibiotics, you can't(or shouldn't be able to IIRC?) buy them over the counter in a pharmacy, yet pharmacies stock them. Ever wonder why they stock medicines/drugs that you can't buy without a writen prescription?

Price comparison, why can't you ask how much your medicine costs? You're paying for it >.> Don't tell me you blindly pay for your med's when you go to a doctor...
*
yeah.. of course if good to survey the price than kena chop by doctor.
Im not sure whether pharmacy selling sleeping pills or stocking it. But i believe, doctor wont simply sell it and even wrote a letter for you to buy at pharmacy.

for your example, antibiotic, you'll usually get it after you sick and check with doctor, but the point is not every docotr will give you sleeping pills if u just tell him you can't sleep at night.

Elses, the pills is everywhere at clinic, they wont start a thread asking where can get those pills right??
If anyone can get the price or can buy from any pharmacy, let me know. let's compare the price here.

The point was if you DID get a prescription from your doctor you'd be able to buy the pills you were prescribed for in any pharmacy stocking the pills. Whether or not your doctor is willing to write your prescription is subjective, if he does not stock(or have in stock) the pills which he believes would best suit your needs and your best interest, he'd write you a prescription so you'd be able to obtain the pills you require or refer you somewhere else.

Whether or not the pharmacies stocks the pills are irrelevant and my post didn't say pharmacies would, though I do think they do. Price comparison, if they stock sleeping pills, they'll tell you the price.

im not trying to argue with you. but as far as i know, doctor will only record those prescription for his goodself perusal, is really rare for doctor to give you the presciption. And even ask you to buy from pharmacy?? unless he is the boss for that pharmacy.

Well, TS, since you tried alot of sleeping pills before. Then ask your doctor to write you the prescription and let me know the price as well. rclxm9.gif

Just to share my insomnia experience with u. Hope can be of help to you.
I used to suffered from insomnia for many many years ago and now I m 90% recovered.
In the past, I have tried many types of medicine such as Valium, Xanax, Dormicum, cough syrup etc etc you name it....... the drugs helps of course but I paid a very heavy price. I'm now become very forgetful and sometimes I can't even spell out a simple word. My Doctor already warned me of memory loss side effects if taking too much of sleeping pills. In fact in the past, I m quite disciplined ( See, i just had problem to spell out "discipline") when taking sleeping pills as i usually consumed 1/8 of a dormicum pill and i m only took it when it was absolutely necessary. But still I m now having mild memory loss problem.

Since last 2 years, I slowly adjust my body biorhythm clock to sleep before 12am ( initially with the help of cough syrup) and I have to keep to it because if i breach it for just one night, my body sleeping timing will be disturb and i will have sleepless night for the next few days before it goes back to normal again. Therefore, you must first set you body clock to a fix sleeping timing and keep to it as best as you can.

Another drug free way to easily get to sleep is to listen to the talks by Ajahn Brahm. Let me guide you how to do it.
1) Goto http://www.bswa.org/
2) Download the talks in MP3 files to your pc (Free download).
3) Transfer the MP3 files from your pc to your mobile phone/mp3 player.
4) Get to your bed 30min early before sleep. Plug in the ear phone, adjust the volume to the lowest and listen to a human voice talking to you till you fall to sleep.

These are many topics of talks such as Happiness is mental energy, The power of mindfulness, Patient, Argument, Hopelessness, who's right ?, learn meditation and many more. This method help me to get to sleep very easily and now my insomnia is 90% cured and most importantly, i don't depend on drugs anymore to help me get to sleep.

Last but not least, stay away from sleeping pills and give my methods a try and hope you can get over it.

Right now i eat 2 valium also cant really help me sleep...

Anyone know those strong wild sleeping pill ? maybe i should take 1 and try ...

I guess you still insist on taking sleeping pill, do u?
OK, If u want to take the risk of memory loss side effect, Go get dormicum. You will sure like it. I once took only 1/4 tablet, within 10 min total black out already.
I must warn u that u must not abuse sleeping pills. Because, your body will slowly immune to the drug and you will need to increase the doses. The more pills u take the more difficult your body is going to sleep naturally without drug and when this happen, it will be what we call addiction. Prolong usage of sleeping pills will damage your memory brain cells and the side effect can only be felt over some time.

BTW Valium is not sleeping pill. It is a tranquilizer. Too much of Valium also no good to your brain cells. T

not all doc will keep Psychotropic drug in the clinic (not all at least ),especially now DCA is very strict on the control of the movement and usage by the doctor , so long doc agree tht the patient has got insomia or for jet lag purpose , doc will (of course, not all doc) prescript sleeping pills for patients to buy from pharmacy , only for 1-3days of dosage (1-3tablets). there is nothing much for u to compare price here coz u r not taking it for long term ( for normal person).

Cheaper if you don't go in to see the doc ( minus the consultation fee ) , but nowadays it's harder to find these clinics that sell these type of drugs over the counter.

Dormicum is kinda in the govt's bad books now cause some idiot found out u can melt the thing and inject it ...
