Trying to get my parents (>60 yo, with knee problems) to exercise but they’re stubborn. Any tips that worked for you?

if they like to travel and go on vacation, then do that.... sure have to walk... at least more than normal...

or if they like shopping and/or look see look see things, then take them to malls etc.

u get the point... needing to go somewhere forces one to move more.

I am not 60 but for me even starting workout it's hard. You need stay consistent for at least 2months only start to see some result. Result is they must really want to do it or introduce someone 60> with muscle and strength. Show them the difference

Wear knee guard and bring them to park where they can see all the greens, walk then have a good rest, have a good chit chat, it will encourage them to exercise

In my experience, you cannot save people from themselves. They either will or won't do right. All you can do is explain it, then encourage them, and if they still don't, then let it go.

It may be difficult to watch people make wrong choices from which they suffer, but it's ultimately their choice.

Try involving them in something social. My parents refused to do anything alone but joined a group class at the community center after a friend invited them. Once they had people to talk to, they started showing up regularly without me pushing them
