Hey guys wanna get opinion from y'all that what’s considered a ‘good’ increment percentage in 2025? Is 3–5% still normal?

3-5% is the standard; a nicer way to put it is "inflation-adjusted increment" or other words, you're lucky you got something.

Agree, on the above. Job hopping is 30-50%?

Big dreams, but okay. Depends on industry and your capability. But usually job hopping is between 15% (if you're already in higher management) to 20%. If you're good/ lucky, or had been severely underpaid in the past - perhaps up to 30%. I hardly see more than 30% but then again, I'm not in HR. HR-ians would likely be more privy to such information.

This is quite wild — I thought the usual was around 20% to 30% max.

Do internal rotation.

I managed to nego 39% increment last year due to the urgency of filling the position. Then got another 15% at the end of yearly review.

Just promoted to lead the team, looking forward for another round of increment.

Job hopping = more increment
Me from Plastic injection molding = 960
jump ship to Automation tech = 1100 (2 years later, also quit)
jump again to Injection molding 1400 (8 months, quit due to workplace hazard and toxic workplace)
jump to Assembly tech 1600 (3 years, Genetic sience, manufacturing)
Rose to Sr tech 2200 (1 year plus, quitting due to crap supervisor lol)
Another ~20% increment after 1 years to 2800 SGD because they cant live without me lol

Either the guy was severely underpaid last time, or he upgraded real good and fast, or headed to other countries (with better currency, or offer). Either way, I'm on the side of being a realism with average benchmark.

Jumping around for sure there will be more increments, but you sacrifice promotion or reaching HOD level cause you need to re-build trust and management buy-in.

Some colleagues jump around, the are still manager, while their peers already become Head of Departments. Then again, there are those who didn't jump for a very long time didn't get promoted and their salary not rising fast enough, these are the people that should have made a move but too comfortable, now suffer.

Once you hit mid 40s and 50s or closer to retirement, you will find it very difficult to demand a salary or get the position you want.

Thoughts are: jumping is fun, but know when to stop.
