Hey guys wanna get opinion from y'all that what’s considered a ‘good’ increment percentage in 2025? Is 3–5% still normal?

3-5% is the standard; a nicer way to put it is "inflation-adjusted increment" or other words, you're lucky you got something.

Job hopping = more increment
Me from Plastic injection molding = 960
jump ship to Automation tech = 1100 (2 years later, also quit)
jump again to Injection molding 1400 (8 months, quit due to workplace hazard and  toxic workplace)
jump to Assembly tech 1600 (3 years, Genetic sience, manufacturing)
Rose to Sr tech 2200 (1 year plus, quitting due to crap supervisor lol)
Another ~20% increment after 1 years to 2800 SGD because they cant live without me lol

Jumping around for sure there will be more increments, but you sacrifice promotion or reaching HOD level cause you need to re-build trust and management buy-in.

Some colleagues jump around, the are still manager, while their peers already become Head of Departments. Then again, there are those who didn't jump for a very long time didn't get promoted and their salary not rising fast enough, these are the people that should have made a move but too comfortable, now suffer.

Once you hit mid 40s and 50s or closer to retirement, you will find it very difficult to demand a salary or get the position you want.

Thoughts are: jumping is fun, but know when to stop.

all my old job were from SME, dang, most of my colleague were slacking after 7pm because no HOD around, slacking until 10-11pm or later.
no teamwork lol, no IHP insurance, fun job but too damn tired, with this job, staying alive is higher priority than rise ranks lol

MNC are better, my latest MNC were generous during covid time, a lot of bonus paid out every few months,
better IHP insurance, covers mental wellness, hospital cost covered even for foreigner in SG.
Been with this company since 2019, increment very depend on performance, contribution.

I primary do troubleshooting and process improvement now.
