usually getting the very first batch will give good oc...

cuz since it's the first batch, they will use every possible method to make sure the hardware work...

i still remember the days when ppl are getting 3+GHz from the very first batch of E6300...

subsequently, as the makers learn that they can substitute certain materials with cheaper alternatives, that's where oc results starts to drop...

anyway, i doubt they can find that u ve oc-ed the parts unless it's extreme cases... there's always the strategy called "act blur" or "act noob"

moreover, many GC now come pre-oced before selling... good for those who wants to oc but are scared...

Guys, I got one question.Does ATI Mobility X700  support Hyper memory???Can X700 play L4Dead??
*
X700 is considered a mid-range card at that time... dun think it has hyper memory...

L4D uses HL2 engine, shouldn't ve any problem on X700...

dun be fooled by the *new* GeForce GTX 280M...

it still uses the G92M GPU used in GeForce 8800M and 9800M...

it's performance is at most at the level of desktop GTS 250/9800GTX+...

Hyper Memory & TurboCache = borrowing system RAM = higher latency = lower performance (compared with dedicated RAM)

Any difference from GDDR3?
*
GDDR3 is even faster than DDR3...

GDDR3 can reach 2GHz DDR easily... DDR3, rit now should be abt 1.2GHz-1.3GHz DDR...

QUOTE(blackmarket @ May 22 2009, 04:05 AM)
I have some question to ask experts here. Is it safe to play high end game on laptop with low end GC on low setting? For example, vegas 2 or cod4/5 on ati 3470. The games run well on 20-40 fps. Temp goes up to max 66celcius for gpu and cpu. Because i heard some ppl told me that doing this will harm the GC.

And there is 1 game- vegas 2, sometimes the screen goes blank a while, window says that 'The display driver has stopped working and has recovered'. I nvr OC and change gc driver. This only occur on vegas 2 but not on cod4 and dmc4. The max temp when playing vegas 2 is same as cod4/dmc4. Is it safe to play this game as often as i wish? Pls advice. smile.gif
*
no problem... last time i play vegas 2 on my desktop with Radeon X1300 also can...

as Windows says, sth's wrong is with the driver... it would ve BSOD if u re using XP... try look for new driver from HP, or get the modded ones...
