majority of the drivers in laptopvideo2go are designed for desktop cards...
thus the trick is to download the driver from laptopvideo2go, unpack it, then download the *.inf and replace the one in the driver pack... u should be able to install after that... |

QUOTE(jakuraz @ Nov 13 2008, 11:40 PM) so many gpu....i dunno how to choose SLI means running 2 cards at the same time to produce even more performance, but take note 1+1 =/= 2 here... u get at most 1.7 with SLI...how you determine a better gpu? bigger number=better? *wat is the diff. between SLI and without SLI? 1.9700M GS 2.9600M GT 3.8800GTX 4.8800M GTX SLI 5.8800M GTS 6.8700M GT SLI 7.8600M GT SLI the first number denotes the GeForce family, the second number denotes the market intended for, and the suffix breaks down the series further (such as some restriction, lower clock, etc) for the suffix, Nvidia's way is: Ultra > GTX > GTS > GT > GS/GSO eg, 8800M GTX has better performance than 8800M GTS even though both are 8800M... usually the bigger the 2nd number the better... but take note some cards may look like they ve the same spec... eg 1) 8800M GTX and 9800M GTS... they both ve the same specification, even model number is different 2) 9650M GT and 9600M GT... both have same spec, but 9650M uses a 55nm GPU, while 9600M uses a 65nm GPU 3) 8700M GT and 8600M GT... both ve the same spec, but 8700M runs at a higher clock 4) 8600M GT and 8600M GS... same family, but the GS has half the number of Streaming Processors of the GT 5) 8600M GS and 8400M GT... same spec, but 8600M runs at a higher clock 6) 8400Ms... GT has 16SP, 128-bits memory interface, GS has 16SP and 64-bits, while G has 8SP and 64-bits www.notebookcheck.com is a good place to check the GPUs... btw, 8800GTX is a desktop card... |

generally, T has higher clock speed and more cache than P, with the exception of P9500, same spec as T9400 but consumes less power

T series is found in Montevina as well... eg T9600, T9400
however, a P series is added in Montevina to further define the max TDP of the CPU... in the days of Santa Rosa, T = 39W max TDP, one step lower is L = 19W in Montevina, T still = 39W, P = 29W and L remains as 19W... |

nothing's fair or unfair here...
when it comes to overclock, luck always plays the biggest part... it's not the makers' problem even if u can't oc at all... their main concern is that the cards work at the default setting, that's all... no such thing as guarantee can oc one... that's y ppl always hunt for different batch of hardware (eg CPU stepping, non reference GC) in a hope to get a good oc out from it... |
