Friends can have many different levels, why some of you so damn anti-social or expect too much out of "friends"?

There are 3 types of friends, someone taught me. I think someone even came out with video about it

1. Friends that you gain benefits - you only get together because of business transaction or work
2. Friends that only come together for common interest like your sports kaki
3. Friends who will support and push you in pursuit of life goals. Best friends usually
*
4. Friend that say hi and bye when met a random places.

Only after you left. Not when you are still working with the company.

But overtime need to be on guard and set boundaries. Corpo world can be ruthless. Ppl you thought were you bros suddenly their true self come out and will throw you under bus. Just business they say

I have only few best friends. Great relationship, even longer than my love relationship.

I don’t expect much out of friends, but problem is so weird to seeing someone “boast” about having many friends from work. “Former” for reasons, I doubt they could be friend if work at same department, especially when my female colleague like to drama so much.
Btw, nice new profile picture

why not? friend itself is a broad term and got spectrum .

If TS need to question the semantics ..... very strong dengki vibe emanating from his character.

Its like queationing someone when they said they felt full after eating some snacks . Takkan go and start topic and questioning whether snack is a complete ,filling meal or not.

your topic title is about "COLLEAGUE", then you write about frens and how they perceive their EX-COLLEAGUES.

Now you twist again and talk about semantic of FRIEND, and then write about BEST FRIENDS.

Hmmmm..... they're totally different meaning altogether.

We all have different definition of what is a friend. Some value quality over quantity

They want to boast, let them boast la, you terasa for what? Why you feel the need to put down their definition of "Friend"?

Yes, but some people also expect too much out of people they call "friend" while they themselves probably don't reciprocate in a similar manner.

Oh yea, met "friends" like that. Manipulative in subtle ways. I would Avoid at all cost.

At most, acquaintance.

I won't say they're my friend. Of course there might be exceptions but not many.

I find it quite weird, TS cannot accept casual (not necessarily good) friendship can be formed from former colleagues . Sometimes when there's no conflict of interest working in the same firm... thats where both parties can let their guard down and the rest is history.
