good job, hreadstarter. just need to add additional info on the waja version available

in year 2004, there's a version with 16" wheels (the wheels were recalled, unfortunately)
in year 2005, the new facelift with new 15" design wheels (no chrome accent, new interior color scheme)
in year 2006, the waja 20th yr edition, dubbed the P20Y

so basically you left out this 3 edition of waja. mine is the 2005 version.

Waja 1.8X - leather seats, premium option, renault engine, drive-by-wire
Waja 1.6X - premium version with leather seats, lots of techies, mitsu engine (4g18p or 4g63?)

1.6A 2005, no mod, cheap RM160 tint

added ipod input, DIY with canare starquad cables and neutrik plugs, nice sounds, good highs and lows, but very lousy mids

future upgrade:
2007 waja leather seats (anyone willing to let go of them for RM 1,500?)

much needed repair:
spoiled paint job (clear layer hilang after 2 yrs)

el-cheapo planned upgrade:
steal Waja2007 radio rubber knobs (smooth type) and change it with my "thorny" rubber knob (f-ugly)

hm... semi cylinder oil... how does it look like? semi-cylinder? LOL

5W-35 is quite "thin" oil (low viscosity), most probably a semi-synthetic

same with me. hose it with water and the knocks will go away for a while. when it's dry, the noice is back

according to those proton guys, most probably the disc calipers are loose or the nuts need regreasing

i see you have wheel arch chrome trim. that's nice. yours a 1.6x or Renault 1.8?

after having this car for quite some time, i seriously regret buying a new proton waja

it depreciates too fast

i should have bought a second-hand 2003-04 waja for 30k and save myslelf the extra 30k. well, i might need to repair this and that, but 5k is more than enuf, which means i can save 25,000!!!!

damn myself for not being able to think this way two years ago

AFAIK, the recommended service interval is 10,000 KM - and i've been doing that

anyone doing 10,000KM service interval or are yuo being duped by those SC and change every 5,000km?

read the WAJA service book carefully. it says

1,000KM
5,000KM
10,000KM
20,000KM
30,000KM
40,000KM
50,000KM

and so on... after the 10k mileage, it's every 10k. warranty won't be voided. it's just some SC trying to rip profit out of you ppl

that's 20sen per KM. kinda normal FC for a waja. i got that too from urban driving, auto.

it's WISHBONE

you can find wishbones inside a chicken skeleton, not dog

just to aff some more info. you *don't* change the stabilizer bar every now and then. what you need to change is the BUSHING

it's like a rubber washer which gets worn out over time. the stabilizer bar is actually a metal rod that is quite thick.

link, bar, strut, whatever it's called, just as long we all know which one we are talking about, it should be fine

i'm not soo knowledgeable in cars anyway

you should let us know:

a. was the tank empty when you pump in RM80 worth of petrol?
b. was your odometer set to zero after pumping?

even to my best knowledge, driving at optimum torque of 2,700rpm at constant 110km/h (highway), i still can't get anywhere below 16sen/km

oh dear... must have typed it wrong. 2,700rpm coasting at 90km/h, not 110. running at 110km/h will get the engine at 3,000rpm

yours is a campro, a DOHC engine. 4g18p is a SOHC

see your a/c? set it to full blower and coldest temperature

and set your blower to just blow all the a/c to the windscreen (the arrow thingy with uppity sign - someone post that sign here) for a few mins and it should be ok

that solves the problem and most ppl dunno what is the use.

use rain-x no fog

it's quite expensive, but a bottle should last you 1 -2 years for 3 or 4 cars

worst case scenario is when it's hot and shiny and suddenly it rains like hell. your car will have vapour inside and fogs all your screen. that's when this anti-fog is useful

other uses:
- treat your mirror inside toilet so it won't get foggy even after a hot shower

you saw that new at showroom? mind posting pic? never seen this waja variant before

all waja comes standard with alloy wheels, and mostly comes in 2 flavors - manual or auto (aside from the 4g18p and campro engine)

the retratable side mirror has been around since year 2002 in the form of 1.6x and 1.8 variant. the 1.8 even has drive-by-wire technology

the centre console! must resist! must not buy! LOLOLOL!

waiting for someone inside proton to carry loads of stock out of the factory and bulk it here. i'm for sure will be the first to get the 2-din HU and the central control buttons


edit: if you notice, there's the fog lamp tilt adjuster. this feature is available in UK spec'ed Waja dubbed Proton Impian.
