just stumbled on to this V2 thread
good job, hreadstarter. just need to add additional info on the waja version available
in year 2004, there's a version with 16" wheels (the wheels were recalled, unfortunately) in year 2005, the new facelift with new 15" design wheels (no chrome accent, new interior color scheme) in year 2006, the waja 20th yr edition, dubbed the P20Y
so basically you left out this 3 edition of waja. mine is the 2005 version.
edit: Waja 1.8X - leather seats, premium option, renault engine, drive-by-wire Waja 1.6X - premium version with leather seats, lots of techies, mitsu engine (4g18p or 4g63?)

1.6A 2005, no mod, cheap RM160 tint
added ipod input, DIY with canare starquad cables and neutrik plugs, nice sounds, good highs and lows, but very lousy mids
future upgrade: 2007 waja leather seats (anyone willing to let go of them for RM 1,500?)
much needed repair: spoiled paint job (clear layer hilang after 2 yrs)
el-cheapo planned upgrade: steal Waja2007 radio rubber knobs (smooth type) and change it with my "thorny" rubber knob (f-ugly)

after having this car for quite some time, i seriously regret buying a new proton waja
it depreciates too fast
i should have bought a second-hand 2003-04 waja for 30k and save myslelf the extra 30k. well, i might need to repair this and that, but 5k is more than enuf, which means i can save 25,000!!!!
damn myself for not being able to think this way two years ago
Added on January 6, 2008, 6:13 pmanyhow, just for the recrod, my 2+ yr old *new* proton waja haven't give me any probs at all, just that it depreciates too quick

why izzit everyone keeps talking about servicing and oil change?
AFAIK, the recommended service interval is 10,000 KM - and i've been doing that
anyone doing 10,000KM service interval or are yuo being duped by those SC and change every 5,000km?

QUOTE(dotcom @ Jan 11 2008, 09:08 AM) Service book is forcing me to service my car every 5000km do maintain my car warranty. else it might not be eligible to claim warranty if anything kong e.g : engine, gearbox, alternator, powerwindow n etc read the WAJA service book carefully. it says 1,000KM 5,000KM 10,000KM 20,000KM 30,000KM 40,000KM 50,000KM and so on... after the 10k mileage, it's every 10k. warranty won't be voided. it's just some SC trying to rip profit out of you ppl

QUOTE(GeneJin @ Jan 23 2008, 09:10 AM) It's called stabalizer link. This will only normally make noise when u passby uneven terrain such as roads with stones or spoild roads. Normally can last for 1 - 1 half years after every installation, recommend to change in pair, both front and back oso have this. And this will affect ur body roll also. My suspension now is having another problem, when i turn the wheel it have sounds from the spring, cos i change the spring and the spring head and my abs cover not really ngam. When i turn my steering sure got sound, sien sial.. just to aff some more info. you *don't* change the stabilizer bar every now and then. what you need to change is the BUSHING it's like a rubber washer which gets worn out over time. the stabilizer bar is actually a metal rod that is quite thick.

QUOTE(thefryingfox @ Jan 24 2008, 08:57 PM) i just pump in 80 ringgit into my waja 1.6 4g18. Currently i reached 62x km for mileage with abit more left - needle barely touching E before i reloaded. Is this a good number? btw how do i calculate the cent/km you should let us know: a. was the tank empty when you pump in RM80 worth of petrol? b. was your odometer set to zero after pumping? even to my best knowledge, driving at optimum torque of 2,700rpm at constant 110km/h (highway), i still can't get anywhere below 16sen/km This post has been edited by lucifah: Jan 24 2008, 10:07 PM

QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ Jan 24 2008, 10:29 PM) wah.. u so good ar? 2.7k at 110km/h. wut mod u did?? my is : 3k = 110kmh 3.5k = 130km/h 4k = 150km/h (very bising de at this point the engine.. my heart (not my ear ) can not stand the sound of it screaming ) oh dear... must have typed it wrong. 2,700rpm coasting at 90km/h, not 110. running at 110km/h will get the engine at 3,000rpm QUOTE(squareballs @ Jan 24 2008, 10:34 PM) My car also 2.7rpm at 110km/h wo.. yours is a campro, a DOHC engine. 4g18p is a SOHC

QUOTE(aliftaufiq @ Jan 26 2008, 09:48 AM) Tried that..huhu.. All over the windows bro.. see your a/c? set it to full blower and coldest temperature and set your blower to just blow all the a/c to the windscreen (the arrow thingy with uppity sign - someone post that sign here) for a few mins and it should be ok that solves the problem and most ppl dunno what is the use.

QUOTE(aliftaufiq @ Jan 27 2008, 10:33 AM) Tried that bro.. That's good for the windscreen..How about other windows panel?? I need to wind down the window in order to clear the mist use rain-x no fog it's quite expensive, but a bottle should last you 1 -2 years for 3 or 4 cars http://www.rainx.com/Products/Windshield_T...t/Anti-Fog.aspxthe link shows the newer WIPES. it used to be in bottles like the original rain.x this is how the bottle version looks like and is sold in almost any major parkson outlet for about RM25 per bottle http://www.amazon.com/Rain-X-Anti-Fog-3-5-oz/dp/B0002JN26IThis post has been edited by lucifah: Jan 27 2008, 03:20 PM

QUOTE(Aggronax @ Jan 27 2008, 03:19 PM) worst case scenario is when it's hot and shiny and suddenly it rains like hell. your car will have vapour inside and fogs all your screen. that's when this anti-fog is useful other uses: - treat your mirror inside toilet so it won't get foggy even after a hot shower

QUOTE(Azuma-kun @ Jan 29 2008, 12:10 PM) I would like to ask about waja variant. I saw a red waja with wheel cap, non-leather and i think got something else missing from normal waja campro in showroom. Izzit the lowest line or for the taxi spec? Not sure for the price but i think at least rm50k. you saw that new at showroom? mind posting pic? never seen this waja variant before all waja comes standard with alloy wheels, and mostly comes in 2 flavors - manual or auto (aside from the 4g18p and campro engine)

QUOTE(squareballs @ Feb 4 2008, 06:28 PM) Hope they already have spare parts for the retractable side mirror..Cannot resist getting that.. LOOK at that!! New center console.. the retratable side mirror has been around since year 2002 in the form of 1.6x and 1.8 variant. the 1.8 even has drive-by-wire technology the centre console! must resist! must not buy! LOLOLOL! waiting for someone inside proton to carry loads of stock out of the factory and bulk it here. i'm for sure will be the first to get the 2-din HU and the central control buttons edit: if you notice, there's the fog lamp tilt adjuster. this feature is available in UK spec'ed Waja dubbed Proton Impian.
