Should ask all the bus companies to upload all GPS data to a government website or something.

If really check, later find out very few actually switch it on brows.gif

Make the gps data public for rakyat to scrutinize.
Want to harap the authorities to monitor tak boleh pakai one.....

Kill 15 people, just get permit revoked.

Next week, get another partner, start new company again.

Why no jail time for them?

Revoke license only, what about charge the directors in court for leasing their permit to a 3rd party. Am sure 1 of the conditions therein prohibits leasing of permit issued to a 3rd party.

Charge and civil sue for negligence duty of care (law of tort)

"when asked for the GPSdata, it wasn't activated "..
ni salah siapa? bus company or enforcement? or both?... it's like saying there's a law, but no one followed the requirements..
if this is true, then how about all GPS data when the vehicles come for inspection.. are regulations followed or wink wink?..
*
But but those enforcement is orang kito. Even if AL put whatever laws, is the orang kito who manage it. So actually is salahan siapa?

this is a very sad tragedy...15,16 young lives.. i hope MACC looks into this matter as it could be more rampant than we see..
first it was heavy vehicles, now buses.. all these have regular inspections, doesn't this sound the bells?..

Unfortunately this is true

I got relative complain the opposite house was used to house 20 illegal immigrants. The local boss so gangster, said go ahead and report to authorities. True enough, even when the perbandaran came, they said no issue. Then the illegal foreigners threw rubbish and gave middle finger to my relatives.

But one fine day, the illegal immigrant park the car on one of the side lanes in front of the house that so happened to belong to someone with ex high position in gov, and arrogantly told the person to f off.

That same night 3am, 10 police car came and hauled all of the immigrants to jail.

In Malaysia the only saving grace we have is our bountiful land with adequate water, sunshine and other resources. The people who live here unfortunately continue to prove themselves unworthy of this paradise.

QUOTE(ZeroSOFInfinity @ Jun 11 2025, 05:19 PM)
KUALA LUMPUR: The transport ministry has revoked the permit for the bus operator involved in the crash in Gerik, Perak, that killed 15 students from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI).

Transport minister Loke Siew Fook said a preliminary investigation found that the operator had breached several key conditions, including illegally leasing its permit to a third party, and failing to activate the vehicle’s GPS tracking system.

“I have instructed the Land Public Transport Agency (Apad) to revoke the operator’s permit immediately once the show-cause period ends,” he told a press conference after a Cabinet meeting today.

“All operating licences issued to the company, including for other buses under its fleet, will also be cancelled.

“Although the company has the right to appeal, the ministry will not consider any appeals in this case.”

According to Loke, the bus operator had leased its permit to a third party in Kelantan for RM500 a month.

“When asked to produce GPS data, they couldn’t provide it because the tracking system had not been activated. This is a clear violation of the permit conditions,” he said.

The bus operator, Kenari Utara, previously claimed the vehicle had undergone maintenance last month. The bus driver, who was on loan from another company, was said to be experienced and familiar with the Gerik-Jeli route.

On a claim that the driver told authorities the brakes had failed before the crash, Loke said a detailed investigation would be carried out.

“That’s just his statement. We will conduct a full forensic analysis to determine whether the claim is accurate.

“However, based on dashcam footage from other road users, it’s clear that the bus was speeding and overtaking before it lost control and crashed,” he said.

Loke also announced that the ministry will develop a centralised database of bus drivers through Apad to address driver negligence more comprehensively.

“Any driver with a prior record can be blacklisted through this system,” he said, adding that it would serve as a key reference for companies looking to hire drivers.
