so, the story goes like this la.. bear with me a bit

received a call from 012-2144983, introduced himself as Encik Azhar Mahmud, claiming to be from the Touch ‘n Go office.. at first sounded very convincing even gave me a badge number: TG10505 .. sohai this scammer very confident

then came the long story:
- my phone number was used on a different device..a Xiaomi Redmi 7
- that device trying to perform a transaction using someone else’s credit card to top up a TNG eWallet account linked to my number total of RM 25,000 (who so stupid to perform huge transfer ?)
- he claimed the actual credit card owner had lodged report to TnG office
- according to him, their investigation showed my number was involved and had been moved to this other device.
- he warned me that I needed to prove my innocence at TnG HQ before 1PM, or legal action would be taken.
- he even gave a report number: T166802P, asking me to “check it myself.”

...so i tell him that i will check myself lor.. say thank you, and ended the call. wasting my time.

so guys..is this a scam attempt?

If real case will be police ask u go balai record statement. Where go tng so free call to warn u. Kek

I received a similar call. Caller said from tngo HQ... But in the back ground I heard motorbikes exhausted pipes sound zoom by 😂😂. Knn.... 😂

scam. he's trying to call a lot of people and looking for one to take the bait. he think you might take the bait too by not checking but too bad for scammer

Anytime someone informs you via phone you must do this before certain time, and usually it's a very tight and impossible deadline, it's 99.99% a scam.

if search number in truecaller - come out "locky" (Loki from Marvel? Trickster? LOL). No whatsapp even though 012 number...confirm scam

I got same type of call before... Same story... I staright say.. Ye ke... Send polis to my house la.. Hang up straight

Definitely a scam. Scammed is hoping u panic never check the report & ask 'so how? I cannot make it to t&g hq by 1pm. Can u help.me?'

After that sure will ask you to settle under table, transfer to inspector from bukit aman say he can help, etc

Don't be surprised that some people will fall for it as some will panic.

That's why I never pick up unknown numbers. If it's urgent they can send me a WhatsApp message.

The last time I got this scam call, I told the guy I just go to jail lo if I do wrong. He got angry and end the call.

What kind of police is this.

next time got police or law enforcement call u say u do wrong thing, first thing u should say is jom jumpa di balai or their official ofis lets talk face to face, then see how they react
