usually one man show.... Owner / Mechanic are generally the same person.... alot of stress to figure out issue of car, pricing of parts and services, suppliers.. and naggy customers who thinks they know more than mechanics. FrogBlob liked this post

big service center ... workers not experience, learn on the job or theory only medium shop ... workers learn on the job, unless owner rajin regularly help one man shop, new shop/ young chap / one car park : dont go.. just learning or poor skill one man shop, old unker, many clients : much experience, safest ... Depends on what car you service. If you service Ferrari, Porsche, Bentley level cars, you tend to go to big/ medium shops or word of mouth shops.
If you service Conti cars, usually go to big stores. Only those without budget go to medium & small shops. the rest of the pack cheapo potongs, poduas, sitis and voises, all layan random shops. |

mostly its customer problem they dont problem spending money at a big workshop they expect itll be cheaper at a smaller workshop but when it end up the same price they leave a bad review |

I go small one.. boss sendiri buat kerja. Good workmanship. No foreign worker. Boss really get their hands dirty, so bz until no time for lunch. Boss also no issue if customer bring their own spare parts. As a matter of fact he even encouraged customer to bring their own parts. Sometimes boss even advised me how to pick good spare parts. I really salute such kind of honest workshop owner. @MAN-kun liked this post

Dont really agree on the view on small shop.
Once my 10+ years car driver side window stuck, went to two big centre quoted me 500+ because need change motor whatnot. Incidentally I went to a one man shop and he able to fix it by changing the hook which only cost a fraction of the price. And I asked him to check my central lock that spoiled for years that those big centre either quoted 200+ or lazy to do because need open up dashboard and ask me go accessories shop, this shop able to fix it at rm50 parts and labor. My biggest despise of those big centre is from one workshop that nearly charged me rm8k on changing absorber that the insurance sum assured only rm10k. Fck him. |
