as much i love drinking coffee, i dont often drink it especially weekdays, except special case such as outstation work where i need to drive or long weekend/holiday where im gonna hardcore gaming mode.

but yeah i would love to brew my own coffee with my own choice of coffee beans but my kitchen doesnt have space for it so yeah im sticking to instant coffee (a good one for my standards) icon_rolleyes.gif

my cheapskate nescafe classic now sits in a davidoff jar. moccona jars are used to contain spices like star anise, cloves, cinnamon.

It's either:
1. They purposely build the product to expire fast once packaging open
2. Never do proper R&D catering to humid M'sia weather

i understand when it full, the air also not much in the jar
when coffee left at 20% then the jar full of air and will deteriorate it faster.
but with air tight cap, it can live longer. that what i mean.

That little bit more air tight not going to make difference as air that got inside when you open and close is already humid.

I am going to try pour 1/2 into old container and half close back in the new container and put it aside.

I bought Mocana because of the nice container, the coffee is not that nice wan. I dun buy it anymore... biggrin.gif

I buy roasted coffee beans for my fix.

I then ground the beans accordingly depending what type of brew I use.

I usually use an electric grinder with a conical burr. Sometimes I also use my Timemore hand grinder if I not lazy.

I use the espresso machine, Bialetti mokapot, Bodum pour over, French press or the Vietnamese phin methods for brewing coffee.

Sometimes I also use a coffee machine that drips hot water over the ground beans into a pot underneath.

Next week gonna try the cold brew method. Just got the equipment last week.

Also eyeing the syphon - looks like science lab contraption rclxms.gif

Usually I make lattes. I use fresh milk from Farm Fresh.

If I want some flavour in it I have a whole bunch of Monin and Davinci flavoured syrups to pump into the coffee.

I hardly drink instant coffee.

If I do so once in a blue moon, I prefer Davidoff ones.

Or its sister brand Tchibo.

Moccona OK la but the container type shown by TS can be difficult to open at times. Very mah fan.

I like none of the Nescafe branded instant coffees.

if lazy to grind, can buy those instant filter types. Pakai-buang. I think they taste better than freeze-dried.

Vietnamese drip can reuse the phin filter, less waste, but the preparation takes more time because the drip is slower, and need to wash afterwards.

My daily driver is a E61, but sometimes cannot wait for it to heat up, so I use the above methods as backup.

Aeropress is fun and somewhat a quick brew but leceh have to wash all the parts.
Pourover is quicker to setup and clean up. Throw the filter and wash the one piece funnel and you're done to enjoy your coffee.

Doesn't matter this type of seal or not. Last portion of the coffee crystal in the bottom will be the last used and each time open the jar, it absorb moisture. Same also with my fresh roasted coffee bean, the last beans on the bottom of the container will be the one needing grinder adjustment to pull nice espresso. There's a special container called Airscape where the lid can go down and compact the coffee beans minimizing air volume but those are expensive.
