Your friend must be stubborn and still drank cold water and ate food not suitable for coughing. And he’ immune systm is compromised at his age.

After he recovers, tell him to go carnivore and eliminate junk from his diet. Also, always drink warm water (hotter the better) no matter how hot weather is or how thirsty you are.

This works for me. And only because I improved my blood circulation. Aka, exercise, get hot, get in the sunshine.(Important to note, it is not a continuous baked in the sun, do it like gym reps... 1 minute or 30 secs, and cool down. Continue for 30cycle.

Otherwise even drugs prescribed by western doc also does not work.

I love the sun's ray hitting on my chest. Feels like the super man moment in boovie.

Dry = Dextromethorphan

Can consider antihistamine like Diphenhydramine if the above is useless - I try to avoid using it though

Cough got so many possible causes

The first you want to identify is whether its a dry/wet cough. Dry cough means no coloured phlegm, normally due to irritation (e.g. post nasal drip). Wet cough got colored phlegm, which means caused by infection and normally means got infection in lungs.

Just go to doctor to get it properly diagnosed. Using the wrong medication for the wrong cause of cough can make things worse.
