pagi tadi around 6am. my phone keep notification of kucing bank. it like around every 1 min got 1 notification.
That annoying sound wake me up and i see my my phone shown the notification u have transfered rm 12.9 to palpay.
shit, then i kill switch my app and call the service center to cut my debit card.
i need to go to bank to re apply new debit card and unlock my online banking.

so i was thinking where i used my debit card.
i pigi beli barang pakai cash or TNG. shopee is by online banking.
last friday i go service car, every year i service i pay cash, but this time they only accapt use e-wallet or cc/DC... no cash.

so, i need to pay by DC. my DC limited rm300, takut hilang kena scam,.. the car fee is 700, so tak cukup bayar then i set the card to 1K limited and pay the fee.


Then shit happend.
Then pertama kali kena hack liao.

i belip the monent i change the setting of my DC limited or when i make payment then kena hack liao.

each hack to sale debit paypal is rm12.9, and total 16 transaction after i kill switch.

anyone encounter before.

why dont you use CC instead of debit card?

Buat report polis. Kalau jarang guna debit card sangat senang nak narrow down macam kes awak.

CC has a layer of protection, like wearing a condom.
DC = cash, bare-bone.

Use wise, they got top up card if kena hack just the top up amount GG

I dont trust any ewallet and not even TouchnGo.

Local banks wont give CC, but foreign banks will.

last time my cimb also kena, you can call paypal and report, they will even tell you the name who use your card

Your phone got used 3rd party apk installed apps such as Vanced YTube and other similar apps or not?

Should have reduce back your limit after that transaction immediately.

Should have asked for the SC account directly debit in(DuitNow transfer) and show receipt. How did he receive the payment from you? Using e-POS with card reader?

Can get back one minus the Forex fee , actually u kena charge double forex fee . RM to USD , then USD back to RM and this bank won't refund u . I kena before .

Debit card tiada secure sign ?

Most likely the culprit works for the service centre and use a card reader to scan and copy yr card details. Use CC also safer than DC as CC payment is not immediate and still got chance to stop payment.

It is very important to know the method which you used to pay the SC with your DC.

Did they use an E-POS card reader device?

A safer way is just transfer a fixed amount just enough to TnGo account then pay from there or transfer DuitNow directly to merchant's account with proof of receipt.

Never give your card to an unknown person for readouts.

never ever ever ever use your hard earn money debit card to buy anything physical or online. use it only as atm card and nothing more.
get a firewall card like wise, bigpay, tng

Also never go to the workshop again, if they can steal yr money so much easier for them to cheat you on car service

Who knows maybe swap out genuine parts from the car might happen when you're not seeing.

Nope, these foreign payment channels still have to go through our local banks. It's much more complicated to deal with if any refunds or transaction changes/cancellation.

The delays will even be longer because the e-wallet operator has to contact your bank just like using other ISPs on TM Unifi network.

Make your life simple use the banks direct debit method DuitNow is the best.

One of the reasons I like those new digital banks’ money pot feature. Any extra money just put inside money pot. When want to use, just transfer the required amount back, then swipe away. Works instantly and safer cause debit card can’t touch money in money pot.

All they need is snap a pic of your card, front and back. With that they can easily use to to buy intangible product.

Nowadays I don't carry physical cards anymore. Anything just Apple Pay. No issue with hacking.

April 1 i just kena, gxbank. 12 transactions total 3k . April 3 gxbank reverse back all transactions. Damn efficient and damn lucky me.

This is why I don't use Debit card for any transactions, and set the max amount to zero. Because when shit like this happens, slowly wait until you get back the money. CC can dispute and cancel card immediately.

This. Local banks very lansi won't give you CC unless having "substantial amount" in your account (FD, savings, investments, etc).

While foreign banks welcome you with open arms and don't matter how much you have, so long you are "clean" and not blacklisted.

How I know? I applied before Harimau and HLBB. Both rejected. But PBB I can get because a majority of my money is in there, while the previous 2 only got some money. For Citi (last time) and UOB though, applying online and via branch, got approved and card sent within next month.

The thing is, local banks want "security" while foreign are more "repeat customer minded".

Any zero annual fee cc can recommend? I also use citi (now UOB) but because my annual usage decreased this UOB kiamsiap only willing to waive half the annual fee.

Never used DC outside to pay for stuff. Use BigPay instead. Reload what u need and use it to pay outside. That way, if kena scam, only the amount inside BP will be affected which u can get it back easily.

sounds like it, if phone kena hack they usually transfer bigger amount, if buy through debit card details no need any verification or pin for small amounts

it could be old school hidden camera on top and bottom too.
