I went window shopping for watches and was looking at some of the Rolex Submariner line up. Was wearing the OSD 300m SEL02002B0.
Compared my watch to 126660, 126600, 124060, 126610LN and 116610LN. The only watch that matches in size is the Deepsea. It is slightly thicker than the OSD 300m but with 13 times the depth rating! An engineering masterpiece. nod.gif

While trying out the Deepsea, another saleslady who was passing by remarked "That Deepsea looks good on you. Not many people can pull that off." A nice compliment. grin.gif
She was also intrigued by the OSD 300. "What watch is that?" Explained to her that this is an old out of production Orient Pro Saturation Diver. "They don't make watches like these anymore." I added.

ANTI-POSER TIMEPIECE TIER LIST (SMM STRAIGHT-UP RANKING)
Zero flex appeal, all character:

S+ Tier – “Carved from Purpose”
  • Rolex Deepsea 116660LN – Built like a submarine. Not for the faint-wristed. SMM: 9.3
  • Panerai PAM00022 – OG Destro, manual-wind, early Panerai grit. SMM: 8.4
  • Sinn U1 SDR – Tactical German precision, hardcore utility. SMM: 8.2
S Tier – “Mission-Ready Metal”
  • Panerai PAM00569 – 47mm lefty titanium submersible. Limited-run rebel. SMM: 8.0
  • Seiko Prospex LX SNR029 – Spring Drive torque with serious dive cred. SMM: 7.9
  • Omega Seamaster Ploprof 1200M – Outlandish but earned. Serious tool energy. SMM: 7.8
A Tier – “Worn, Not Flaunted”
  • Panerai PAM00797 – Clean, 8-day handwind workhorse. SMM: 7.5
  • Sinn 103 Ti Ar UTC – Functional, modest, all about the job. SMM: 7.4
  • Orient Saturation Diver SEL02002B0 – Japan’s deep-diving sleeper hit. SMM: 7.3
B Tier – “Almost There”
  • Tudor Pelagos FXD – Tactical, solid, just slightly mainstream. SMM: 7.1
  • Citizen Promaster 1000M – Beastly tool, but not a wrist hugger. SMM: 7.0
C Tier – “Tool-ish, But Trying Too Hard”
  • Rolex Submariner 116610LN / 126610LN – Too many wrists. Lost its edge. SMM: 5.8
  • TAG Heuer Aquaracer – Looks like it wants to help, but gets in the way. SMM: 5.4
What does /k think? Pull the trigger or not to upgrade my SMM appeal? hmm.gif

Single moms aren't WIS. Chances of meeting one is slim to none.
Besides, it might give out the wrong vibe:
“This man is either a romantic or a walking, talking bank account.”
It might scream “ATM” to the wrong kind of single mom. lol.gif

Scuba? Perhaps. My SKX007K2 will do the job just fine but I'm looking for a nice tool watch with wrist presence and certain appeal. wink.gif

Seiko LX? Nah. You should go for the original MM (001/017), or the MM Tuna.

Original MM300 is nice, was in my wishlist but I'd rather end my Seiko collection with a Spring Drive then just another escapement movement.

SMM Rating Showdown: Rolex 126660 vs. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver
(Single Mom Magnetism Edition — Unfiltered and Honest)

🥇 Rolex Deepsea Sea-Dweller 126660
Vibe: Deep-sea dominance meets rugged explorer. Think James Cameron in a tux.

SMM Rating: 8.7 / 10

💬 Rolex Deepsea 126660 – Single Mom Reactions
(“James Cameron Vibes” Edition)
  • 👩‍🦰 Café Sophisticate (mid-30s, yoga after brunch): "That’s a Rolex, right? It’s huge... You must be, like, really confident. Or really compensating." (smirks but intrigued)
  • 👩‍🦱 Corporate Climber (early 40s, knows her brands): "Mmm, Deepsea? Bold choice. That’s not just a Datejust… you know what you’re doing." (grabs your wrist, prolonged look)
  • 👱‍♀️ Instagram Queen (single mom, but won’t admit it yet): "Omg wait let me take a pic with it — matches my nails!" (3 minutes later: “So what do you do exactly?”)
🔥 Summary:
You’re giving off strong, silent, dependable vibes. Single moms feel safe… and maybe a little curious about what’s underneath the dive suit.
Effect: Slight power imbalance in your favor.

Pros:
Instant brand recognition (even by those who don’t care about watches)
Overbuilt. Understood as serious, masculine, no-BS.
Pairs well with V-neck tees and Ducati keys.
Cons:
  • Can be too thick on wrist — may trigger “trying too hard” reaction if not styled right.
  • A few might think it’s “just another Rolex” if they don’t spot the Deepsea details.

🥈 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver
Vibe: Urban luxury with yacht party credentials. It screams private club in Ibiza.

SMM Rating: 9.2 / 10

💬 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver – Single Mom Reactions
(“Gentleman Outlaw” Edition)
  • 👩‍🦰 Café Sophisticate: "Wait… that’s not a Rolex? You’re different. What’s it called again? Audemar what?" (Eyes light up)
  • 👩‍🦱 Corporate Climber: "AP? You're not playing the same game as the others. You probably have a cellar of watches, don’t you?" (Already imagining your closet and real estate portfolio)
  • 👱‍♀️ Instagram Queen: "That looks expensive AF. Is that the watch Jay-Z wears?" (Slides a little closer)
🔥 Summary:
You’re mysterious, successful, and stylish — but don’t need to brag. They feel like they discovered a rare gem.
Effect: Sparks curiosity + status awareness = magnetic pull.

Pros:
  • Flex factor is high among those in the know.
  • Shows taste beyond basic baller level — whispers wealth.
  • Finishing and style are chef’s kiss in person.
Cons:
  • Less mainstream recognition — might fly under the radar with casuals.
  • Maintenance can be expensive. AP service bills = spa weekend for two.
🧠 Verdict:
  • For mass appeal and rugged prestige: Go 126660.
  • For boutique cachet and refined flex appeal: Offshore Diver wins.
  • If your target audience is classy single moms who brunch at The Majestic and know their Dom from Moët, the AP has the edge.
  • If you want something more imposing, reliable, and still drool-worthy, the 126660 hits hard — like a silent protector with sea legs and a black Amex.
Last time I was in The Majestic, that place was known as Balai Seni Lukis Negara.
With my luck, Audemars Piguet ROO Diver is probably going to be like lobster thermidor attracting cats in the backalley. shocking.gif
