Some people never consider the wear and tear on the car, not to mention how the car served him for so many years and so many miles. They think a car dont need maintainence.

Ayam sudah drive 16 years, 4 vw ok je

219k km got, new model got

Some things wear and tear normal la higher mileage need change

But can improved is those design flaw, say melting plastic parts or those leaks, unless the engineer themselves design for planned obsolescence
*
Europe cars are pioneers in designing planned obsolescence. Plastic oil pan, plastic water pump, plastic intake manifold, reclaimed plastics for interior parts, "organic synthetic" leather, natural fiber infused cables, the lists goes on.

Ever seen a cracked Porsche Cayenne V8 plastic air intake manifold. That made the car died, power and get codes. The old Cayenne had aluminium manifold.

My 2012 Peugeot 3008 clocked over 290k km and still needed another 20k+ for repairs. Already spent 50k on repairs since after warranty.

In the end, let it go at 3k to cut further losses. The new owner overhauled and redo the entire car by himself DIY. Quite impressive given the low budget allocation.

250k km is considered the lifetime of a car already loh. More than that is a bonus already.

I used a first gen Vios that clock in almost 200k last time.

During that time, a lot of things need to be changed and replaced. It takes a lot of money to repair it

It's a same thing for every car.

Saw my old boss who had experienced owning all Conti brands, VW, Audi, Volvo, BMW and now Mercedes, he straight told if want buy conti, take Mercedes. Never ever take the VW-Audi group, cz too many issues. Volvo, SC problem, only know on basic maintenance, comes special problem, standby resting the car at SC for weeks, but the problem still persist. And outside lacks of Volvo expert. BMW, he had multiple headache related to engine, ECU, electronic and one time, claim new gb for his F10 few months before warranty expired.

Now with Mercedes, he keep repeat it, from previously sedan E-class to now GLE. He too not taking the hybrid, EV form if its Conti brand
