Ccp cars are built based on german engineering. The took vw and other german cars as their inspiration back in the early 2000s.

No surprise that their reliability are somewhat the same.

Japanese cars on the other hand focus too much on reliability that they lose out on technology.

To be frank , I don't think that Japanese are that great because the reliability comes from making things as simple as possible, not because they make it reliable.
It's one thing to create something technologically complex and make it reliable. It's another thing to avoid anything complex so that it is reliable.

Avoiding anything complex so that it is reliable at the expense of performance there's nothing great to it.

On the other hand some cars increase technological complexity without any performance gain. eg:- push button to open door, motorized air cond vent

Ie. Modern conti merc, bmw and audi, as well as tesla.


Do we need touch screens? Do we need a tablet to open my boot/bonnet? Do we really need a 2-3 page touch to increase/decrease aircond volume?

If you avoid performance model, this Merc model is known to suffer this problem - thermostat. Any others are just wear & tear

Which conti model you own?

Many years ago I rented a Polo 1.6 (same as this Vento, but hatchback version) for a day from SoCar.

Just want to try it out.

Nice car to drive.

Car less than 2 years old then, with mileage ~ 50K km

BUT

Interior looked so worn out for something that new.

Engine oso vibrate and make some funny noises.

My >15 years old Hyundai Getz 1.6 with about 400K km (back then) sounds way better and smoother than the Polo.

Performance about the same in both cars (with the Polo in Sports mode; otherwise in Normal/Economy mode Polo very sluggish compared to the Getz).

And here I'm not even comparing it with nice reliable Japs, but an old kimchi crab.
