I really believe VW Polo/Vento is the only "reasonably good" VW around. No turbo and Aisin gearbox is bulletproof.
240k km is already a miracle for conti cars. I hv a similar one (2nd hand) with 170k km with minor issue and so far average spend 1k/yr on changing wear/tear parts. I change ny own engine oils every 10k km. Can also change spark plugs every few yrs on my own. If you hv wheel speed sensor issue, buy online and change yourself. Easy and cheap. I even DIY change the gear selector bush.

Some things wear and tear normal la higher mileage need change

But can improved is those design flaw, say melting plastic parts or those leaks, unless the engineer themselves design for planned obsolescence

Buy vw/ccp cars then complain say many problems or not as reliable as jap. Topkek bodo, better to buy fan and complain why not as cold as air cond la.
