QUOTE(dest9116 @ Apr 24 2025, 08:08 AM) No moneyyyyy japan younger gen very very poor. They can't even afford to get married. Houses too expensive the property price kena play too much. U see Japan now is u can see China in future. Last time Japan is exactly like what China now is. nop. japan got played by American on economy. specifically trade tariffs. which leads to inflation and crazy interest rates. china has a different problem for the newer gen, lesser job ops (could be worsen due to AI), highly competitive society, and lowing birth rate altho the two comes to similar situation where people demotivated to work, dont want to have children, can't get married, can't afford to own properties but generally china's economy is going to do better than jap..my 2 cents la

QUOTE(dest9116 @ Apr 24 2025, 08:06 AM) Japanese gov also damn fucking stupid to set such a high inheritance tax. I understand they wanna tax the rich but u can always set a limit like above 2m property baru kena tax Very short sighted. Now it become the gov problem to solve these abandoned houses. Another thing is trash, no wonder japan is so clean, everyone keep trash inside their house kek Go to their Airbnb and u will know pain in the a$$ Hotel is the last place u wanna dump everything sesuka hati into the bin Airbnb I even had notices like ' if u don't know where to throw, just leave it (trash) here." If want help to throw luggage bag + 300yen Help to keep something +100 yen etc

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Apr 24 2025, 08:32 AM) nope there are quite a few vacated houses in very strategic location....not inherited and it's completely free still no takers Then what the issue then? The house very small? Very close to red light district? There is always some issue. No one rejects free things.

inheritance taxes will kill you
imagine having to pay 10-15% tax on the house worth, if cannot pay then force sale

No one rejects free things. the issue is all the taxes, then u have to spend all the money cleaning it before you can start "building" it buying a used house in japan isn't same like here where everything just throw to the street there's a lot of money going out before you even start your step one unlike buying a new house...after you got the key, that's the beginning of step one

U see Japan now is u can see China in future. Last time Japan is exactly like what China now is. Not really. There are 2 main differences: 1) Japan bola kena pegang by US from the start. Can be argued that some of it was what Big Brother wanted. 2) Japan got overtaken by the "younger" economies like South Korea and China. China does not really have that problem currently. There are similarities though, housing, domestic demand etc. But in terms of population age, governance and demographics, they are very different.

QUOTE(Virlution @ Apr 24 2025, 09:40 AM) wonder why japan got no squatter illegally take it over, give it a paint and illegally rent it out on AirBnB because they don't know what is the backstory of that residence(so pantang) secondly, they don't do anything illegal(their jail is no fun) thirdly...cleaning that residence cost a small fortune so even if u do it legally, the house is completely free....well, it's still not really free This post has been edited by MR_alien: Apr 24 2025, 09:56 AM
