Kinda normal for some chain retail outlets. But he also claim 2.1-2.4k gaji je for 6 days a week 9am-10.30pm. He got paid 2.8k somehow for that role/hours.

What right are you expecting? Right to goyang kaki(when you can jaga 3 shops but you only want to jaga 1)?
What 0 empathy are you talking about? Expect boss to give 3 times the salary for jaga 3 shops within working hours?

If you have 3 shops. One shop only need to spend 2 hours per shop. The rest of the time you want that staff to goyang kaki?
