Cha, care to provide review on hap AX3? Hows the overall performance?

I prefer to take real reviews from users bro. More organic and we can know the pros and cons, unfiltered.

I am well versed with Mikrotik already. Used the famous RB750Gr3. Now they have a newer version called the hEX Refresh with better spec compared to the 750Gr3. Need to purchase a unit for testing soon.

Also special thanks to soonwai for introducing me to Mikrotik. I've met him personally, he was one of the dude who purchased my RB750Gr3.

Just PSA. HEX Refresh uses an arm32v5 CPU. If your intention is to use public container image, it is extremely limited, almost useless.
If running container on Mikrotik is the goal, get arm64.

Are you consistently getting low download or only during certain time of day?
If it is consistently low speed, probably just misconfiguration of speed.
If only certain time of the day, definitely is OLT port congestion.

Bad fiber won't cause this. Because there is only one fiber, not like in data center installation where you have 2 fibers, one for TX, another for RX.

Do you restart just the router? Just the ONU? Or both?
Did it fix your speed if you just restart the ONU?

What router are you using? This case sounds like hardware problem already if you need to play with restart.
But your latency seems okay. Normally hardware problem come with massive increase in latency.

Try just restarting the ONU when it happens

Is your "ONU" actually an ONR?
Fiberhome? or D-Link?
Both brand known to have firmware bug which cause this.

What's the firmware version? Upgrade to 2.0.6?

Did you disable TR-069 and see if it works? Maybe they push something.

Which OLT vendor are you on?
You can check from your Mikrotik:
Bridge > Host

Get the VID mac address that's not your Mikrotik, like from VLAN 209.
Lookup the OUI.

This is a bad ONU, get it replaced

The Skyworth GN630 is much, much better than this
