QUOTE(Jasonist @ Aug 2 2008, 12:03 AM) So happened to be in one of the Nikko Stores, saw them putting new stuff up he shelves, was about to leave at first when I didn't see any interesting boxes, then dono what made me walk to the other side of the counter, and there it was! Sitting on the counter.. Without second thoughts.. Grabbed it as it was the one and only unit there.. There again, it suffers from the AutoArt looseness disease, engine hood cannot stay open.QUOTE(cham2020 @ Aug 2 2008, 12:06 AM) RM485 after discountAdded on August 2, 2008, 6:38 am QUOTE(zefflodo @ Aug 1 2008, 10:26 PM) Hey Zeff, you only got one guess correct.. not the other guesses... QUOTE(spikey @ Aug 3 2008, 08:27 PM) Hey Guys was just wondering if you ever had a gathering TT (teh tarik) amongst diecast collectors (just my 1 cent idea) tot it would be nice to meet all collectors to exchange views. Never in my life I came across any d-c TT sessions. It'll be great if it can be organised. Don't be disappointed with the numbers if it's less than expected. Eventually, it will grow |

QUOTE(AMG_soh @ Aug 5 2008, 11:50 AM) jasonist, for me it doesn't feel like leather seats because it's hard. Nevertheless the smell is similar to leather... hehe.. i just get it from nikko in Mid Valley yesterday.. My friend aurion get it few days earlier than me.. That's why i known the diecast has already arrived in KL... So i called the shop to check if the stock is available or not. Agree! Feels more like plastic to me.. Doesn't have the leathery feel nor the texture to it!This post has been edited by aurion: Aug 5 2008, 06:31 PM |

Just so share some tips on refurbishing your dc models.
1) Toothpaste can be used to remove minor scratches on the windshield, rear windshield and side windows. Apply a bit of toothpaste on to a polishing cloth and buff till toothpaste disappears, scratches shoud be gone or less visible, apply more toothpaste if scratches still visible and buff. Also works on getting rid of superglue on windshield (time consuming) 2) For silver cars which need touching up on paintwork, Tamiya Acryllic Paint X-11 Chrome Silver blends in almost perfectly with the original paintwork. 3) For Maisto McLaren SLR's doors which just cannot stay up, superglue is a friendly fix here. First, take the whole car apart, and apply superglue on the hinges located on the roof top of the shell. Keep opening and closing the doors to prevent the superglue from jamming up the doors. Eventually, the super glue will harden but not hard enough to stop your doors from opening or closing. The doors should work like new after this, just that they are a bit harder now and will stay up or down when required. This post has been edited by aurion: Aug 7 2008, 09:04 AM |

QUOTE(Jasonist @ Aug 13 2008, 12:35 AM) It's the same as the AutoArt new S-Class except that it has lesser features. Will post pictures asap as I'm trying to get the duo pictures (S63 and the S500). Pro and cons here and there for the Dealer Editon S-Class are:-Pro Two-toned dashboard (Black and Beige) Slightly detailed engine block cover with V8 writing Almost half the price of those that are packaged in the Millenium Edition Pagkaging Cons Front doors, Engine Hood and Trunk only opens Dog leg hinges for front doors Lacks interior detail *Tip for holding up AutoArt or any make's engine hood which doesn't stay up* 1) Cut both ends of two cotton buds to equal length 2) Use a permanent marker to get the whole thing black 3) Stick them up on both sides of the engine bay supporting the hood. 4) Done!
